Usually, when something ends in a tie, both sides wish they had won. Not so when we're talking Dirty Dining. This one's a real David and Goliath, as a tiny sushi joint is deadlocked with Ronald McDonald. Darcy Spears reports.

1) Too lazy to be bothering to wash their hands after using the toilet while many demand to increase the minimum wage…… 2) What do you expect from people who likely don’t get trained much before being told to do stuffs? These are likely the same groups of people who thinks just simply wearing gloves would also make it so they don’t have to wash their hands prior to putting on said gloves.

My father worked at McDonalds for a few years in his 30's. I even saw his certificate of "Hamburger-ology" He was the manager and he NEVER had food sitting around more than 5 minutes. His logic was, 'It's cold now, throw it away. Customers want their food hot.' He had a 5 minute rule with all of his employees and they abided by that. He had no violations, no issues, nothing. He even got behind the grill and did some flipping himself.

@@monhi64 Well, you shouldn't cook everything like that. That's number one rule to cooking. You cook to order. My father told me, 'Sometimes we had bad orders where someone put ketchup on a burger when the customer didn't want it..some other things like that with mistake orders. I always had them start the order over so it was fresh. We always started fresh with everything.' When I asked him what he did with the 5 minute food or wrong order food, he said he ate it so it wasn't wasted. He said he deliberately refused to waste food and ate cold orders or cancelled orders so he could gain muscle weight for playing official softball games. I saw his softball photos and he certainly turned the fat to muscle while working there.

It’s not just Asian restaurants. A friend worked at “white” restaurants like Black Bear Diner and casual high end restaurants. Most all have serious hygiene problems from ice machines that never get washed to old frothy orange juice replaced with a fresh batch without washing the container. The only few places that he said was clean were really expensive high end fine dining restaurants. So pay a lot for a meal or you can be sure it’s not 100% clean. They need to crack down harder on these cheaper restaurants and fast food restaurants. They let them fix and open again so no one takes it seriously. After 3 C or worse grades, it should be SHUT DOWN permanently!

My late father was a meter reader for the electric utility in a major Ontario, Canada city. This was back in the days when all meters were inside and in basements. He always had horror stories about the filth in Chinese restaurants, especially the smaller ones in downtown China Town. He saw, over the years dead rats and mice, live rats, mice and insects crawling over crates of vegetables, layers of mouse and rat sh*t on the floors, overflowing toilets, live insects crawling over walls and even a few dead cats. He always assumed that the dead cats were the next day's Chef's Special. True story.

I ate at a “B” Rated restaurant before. I think it was my first time seeing a “B” Rated restaurant in person. The food was delicious and I did not see any obvious reasons for the B-Rating. I then went online later on that day to see what’s the difference between an “A,” “B,” and “C” Rated Restaurant. Let’s just say that anything less than “A” has some pretty bad violations that you may not always be able to see from the dining room area. You would think B Rated restaurants might not be perfect, but can’t be that bad, right? I thought so, too, until I read what I read. Would I go back to that B Rated restaurant? Yeah, lol. My boss took me there for lunch one day. I liked it. Seemed busy with lots of people at the time. Maybe they just messed up during one of their inspections, idk. Maybe when I go back it will be have an “A” Rating. I’ve only been there once.
@thaanonymous776
@thaanonymous776 2 жыл бұрын
The food being delicious would have absolutely nothing to do with the restaurant earning that "B"-rating. If those ratings are common, especially considering the notoriously bad hygiene of restaurant workers and low standards set by restaurant owners, I would assume that a restaurant with a "B"-rating should be avoided, no matter how "good" the food tastes.
@juanlemod

Here's another one. When I attended Community College in Toronto, I drove taxi on Friday and Saturday nights. I received a radio call to pick up a take-out order at a Chinese restaurant on Danforth Avenue. As I waited at the side kitchen door for the order, I saw two kitchen workers using a pail, situated beside a crate of vegetables, as a urinal. There was lots of "splashing" onto the vegetables. When done, they simply "gave it a shake," zipped up and went back to cooking. I left without the order and contacted my dispatcher who called the customer. I found out next week that she was grateful that I left without the order. From that day on I have refused to either eat at or order from a Chinese restaurant.

Went to a burgerking one time next to zion Park Utah. Nothing but kids working there and all there finger nails tips were blacker than an early 2000s emo kids soul. Holy crap I dipped out as soon I reached for my wallet and handed him my card... I said hell nah and left lol

That Mc Donald’s is a franchise, they could lose there contract with Mc Donald’s if they don’t hold the corporate standards . But the food carts on the strip a street corner doesn’t get checked , did they see if she has a food handle card and health card . That everyone else needs to get before applying for a job .

Sheesh tell that to the place I work at. *cough* Bobby Evan *cough*. Heads up the food we’re supposed to throw out on the labeled date we just change the label to a later date. That salad and it’s toppings? Yeah that’s a 3 week old thing that should’ve been thrown out. That nice cheesy omelet? You guessed it....older than the queen herself.

I blame s.n.h.d. for not properly training people when getting health cards. testing is so inadequate. as a servsafe trainer , I helped my son get his health card and I was amazed how the testing focused on only a couple of major things. needs to be fixed. as a chef , I have to train people all the time . not surprising all this is going on.
