Played on and off from Vanilla to mid Cata and I agree this looks kinda fun.. i was on a cata pr server Apollo a year ago cuz i still get the itch to play. Maybe ill check this out someday, im a lot more busy with life now than in my early 20s though.

As a dad of 3, ascension is awesome. Everything is streamlined and it’s the most fun I’ve had in wow ever. I started playing in vanilla like a week after it went live.

Tanking is so diverse, My favorite tank spec has to be Felcleave. You get metamorphosis a bunch of attack speed and spell power with a few RE's, and it's just numbers and threat everywhere

How funny, I only just today discovered Ascension was a thing and the first thing I looked at in the talent calculator was meta tanking. Haven't actually started yet, but that sounds so damn fun.

Literally at the same time you were in these dungeons, I was doing the same and as a new player I was SO LOST, I was healing and I couldn't keep up between picking spells and actually doing my role.

"tab targeting feels a little weird lately" I felt this, idk why but tab targeting in pve and pvp has been real weird lately, doesnt even work on some targets for some reason

yeah you need to hit tab multiple times sometimes to actually tab to a new target. feels really unsatisfying tbh.

Cocky private server players are the definition of retail rejects. The kinda player who fails a +10 when everyone else is doing +20s and then blames everyone but himself so he goes to play private servers.

Gwenny here, sorry did not mean to be cocky! I was just trying to help the dps's expectations so they don't go running into another heroic and have more trouble in the future! KREG was great with threat, although some more defensives would have made it easier!

You hit the nail on the head when it comes to people on ascension. Some people have 0 chill, I had a guy complain about wasting 20 seconds to wait for CDs to pull a boss.

I think you might have missed the talent: set up, for the riposte + ghostly strike combo. Also pick up the spiritual attunement in prot pally for mana while tanking

This video was awesome dude, I've got a sword and shock tank making the sword and board talent proc my thunderclap. Super fun and useful, although it really isn't as good as this build; makes me want to prestige and go for a 2h build!

If you prestige make sure to get crackling thunder RE, it will really help with damage and threat. Eventually you will run out of talents for parry stuff, get some dodge talents. There is one that gives you 10% reduced damage after dodging. It's a 5/5 really worth it. Also revenge skill card is huge if you can get it, same with devestate. They synergize reallly well together, and have AOE.

I wish they changed the graphic for crackling thunder. After a few dungeons all that flashing gets to you. It's like staring into a strobe light.

I tried blademaster, and it seems Heavyweight is much better! just put /stopattack /castspell /stopattack to get the stacks up with devastate, and boom, if you lose aggro, righteous fury or let auto attack loose!

I know what you mean man, I did some healer dungeons and we blew through shadowfang keep, I was having trouble reading loot and level cards while spamming my heals. No wipes though and we all overleveled by the time arugal showed up, was cool.

My first ascension character is blademaster its so good but half the time my healer won't take me seriously and leaves before first pull when they see the 2h weapon.

Spammimg stocks with aura and pot is just the fastest way to lvl , as it has enough of mobs and no downtime , last run was with 2 fok i healed and it was as u say no time to even put skills on bars

So I will say there is a healer thing right by the tank one to encourage more healers. That means you can auto get 2 skill cards for them which I assume are heals I didn't look because I hate healing.

I love 2h tank, I’ve done it a few times, but not on the random realm. I’ll have to give it a try now that they help you get some rolls for it. I just tried leveling with bg’s and leveled long enough to hit 48 in one night. lol It was fun and it made me think of how cool it would be if there was some sort of Alterac Vally daily event or something where it’s the original bg and it’s scaled to level. You start level 1 and as it goes on you level and get your random abilities. You have all blues and they level every 5 levels. Takes you like 1-50 for losers and 1-60 for winners. Maybe that would be better for after they reintroduce TBC since people will mostly only xp pots dungeon grind at that point if it’s anything like the end of last season.

this keeps the probability to get more epics/rares later down the line when he is looking for specific skills. when you pick a bunch of rares/elites early on you lower your chances later

You have to be careful in prision, the reason its so hard is because the mobs give a debuff and reduce armor by 100%. Also the boss mana drains

I'm new to Ascension and was thinking of making a Voidwalker tank character, Is that supported by random enchants that funnel threat or defense stats into your pet or something similar?

There is an enchant that boosts voidwalker effectiveness for its abilities, then enchants that increase threat gained for specific types of damage, but nothing for defense funneling from my searches in the database. You can combo the threat damage type increases with misdirection, allowing you to funnel even more threat.

As long as you somewhat remember how the classes were back when you did play and you can deal with trial and error - yes. It's definitely a good way to get back into it. Jump on the hype train now before it dies.

Bad healers were why I stopped tanking. Life tap is MANDATORY healers. Beacon of light + lifetap = infinite mana and sustain. Please learn this so I can go back to tanking.

I was actually thinking of trying a tank build when someone in global chat mentioned an RE or something that gave dodge, parry and block when channelling a spell so i was thinking drain life or mind flay in cone with RE could maybe work? not sure if that is actually a thing with whatever bonus he was talking about but it did sound fun.

@@CappyVLNT nah. Join a group that already has the experience aura. If they’ve made a group and are looking for a healer AND aura don’t even bother. Wait a few cuz there is always a group looking for heals and they’ll already have an aura.

Hey I'm new to the server, could you please explain why sometimes it's not worth it to grab some Epics or Legendaries like you did with Sprint there? Trying to understand the full logic behind that :) thanks love your videos and I started playing cause of them

The more legendaries you have, the chance to see other legendaries gets lower. Same for epics and rares

This. It reduces your chance of pulling abilities with similar rarity. You can expect to achieve 2 legendaries and 4 epics (although more IS possible)

You should probably be careful strafing sideways, sometimes adds hits like they are standing behind you and crit hard.

I honestly wanna see how a hybrid dps/heals work.. idk if holy paladin now had that back then but with ascension, dont know if it is actually possible. Anyone know? I loved my dpsing Holy Paladin back on retail (dont play anymore due to dogshit expansions, maybe from BFA mostly). Kept my team up really nice and it was fun
