The German city is "Düren" and "ü" normally becomes "ue" when no Umlaut allowed. It sounds a bit like "deer-n", not like "do-ren".

@Cadfael007 I somehow have had the impression WW2AviationGeek is in fact German. I may be mistaken though or he may be kind of "cosmopolitan" (Meaning = I am a Finnish guy whose neighbor is an old British man who has residences in several different countries so he is so cosmopolitan I am not sure how familiar is he still with exact English. In some circumstances, you can indeed lose your mother language skill).

@@Cybernaut76 I am originally from Canada but now live in Australia. I have had many international life experiences and have lost track of the number of countries I have visited. My natural super power is speaking foreign languages badly. But that doesn’t stop me from trying….

They are all simulated ‘in silica’, so technically not real. The pilots of these bombers are AI…

You may gnash your teeth like "only eight kills". But if every Me-262 pilot shot down eight bombers per combat flight, I doubt the British and Americans would have been able to maintain a sustained bombing campaign intense and pauseless.

@@WW2AviationGeek Yep. Even more important than lots of kills or successful mission is that you were neither captured nor killed. That would mean good, successful mission even if you did not even make it into an ace.

If the German had introduced me 262 18 months earlier in greater numbers the allied airforce would have in big trouble
