Ah thank you so much man.. you’ve really affirmed it for me now with the longer videos as when I was editing this yesterday I was thinking, Christ this is long for a guitar review who’s going to watch it?! But then I thought well, I want to be thorough and cover as much as possible so yeah, it takes as long as it takes.. so I’m really glad that guys like yourself like this long format and am happy to watch and hang out with them! So thank you again! 🤘🏻

The Jackson king v RRX24-7 in one of the most cleanest best 7 I've ever played. Unlike the esp or Ltd it's well balanced and the head doesn't pull down I played both at guitar center before making my choice the Jackson was well worth it

Jackson make such great guitars. I’m still kind of bonding with this guitar now as it’s taking ages to get used to the whole idea of having 7 strings and where the positions have moved to on the fretboard etc. But yeah, Jackson is certainly the way to go for a lot of metal guitars and they look the part!

@@nihilist92 the only thing I didn't like is the binding kept coming loose on the head . And after my girlfriend son picked it up and damaged the paint I stripped it and repainted it it was black now it's matalic silver with black sunburst and I just let the binding off the head and replace the inlay and it looks good now and I decided I don't want to be a daddy to a kid that gets into things he was told twice to leave it alone 😂

@@larrymcneill8407 hahah yeah I understand 😂 as a matter of fact, I managed to drop mine flat on its face within a month of owning it as it was in a bag that I though was zipped up.. I went to put it on my shoulder and we’ll, yeah.. out it came. Fortunately it landed on carpet and there’s next to no damage on it other than a small scuff on the headstock but other than that it’s still in pretty good condition. I can’t feel You how mortified I was, as I generally keep my guitars in good condition. So yeah, brand new Jackson hitting the deck was no fun!

Just for clarity if people are looking at this years later. The Floyd Special and Floyd 1000 and Jackson Branded Floyd’s are made to the same spec. They all perform just fine, I have JS32 dinky with the Jackson Floyd as well as Ellis Kelley with a 1000 series and they’re both great. Tuning holds just fine with any soft of abuse on the trem. The difference is the metals in some of the parts are different. Either way you’ll be happy with any of them.

You could always use the boss tuning pedal to kill the volume quickly without fiddling with the knob. I have the buzz-7 tuned to drop A, I'd like to get another 7 string to set up as A# because then you got the cannibal corpse tuning as well as slayer tuning in one guitar. I'm thinking about getting this one but I'm not sure..... that ibanez xiphos looks dope too

Hey - yes I had no problem with this guitar with tuning. HOWEVER, I will say that I read lots of reviews on this Floyd system and it seemed to be good and bad reviews with tuning stability. So it was a bit of a roll of the dice for me however like I said I had no problems personally with mine after using the bar etc.

I’m looking into getting the King V version with the drop A tuning. As for going lower, I would get a digitech drop to do the Fit For A King stuff. It really doesn’t sound noticeable at all.

I also ordered the guitar, do you have ever tuned the guitar lower than a? Maybe f? My impress is a really thin sound in comparison with my other guitars. Is this a wrong setting on my amp or typical jackson? I ever played Ibanez and Dean, they also have a floyd rose, are dropped, were cheaper, but have more power. I cant find the problem. Instead of active pickups, the passive slot by the amp gives more sound than the active. Do you have an advice?

How durable is the body after a few months of use? Poplar is an extremely soft wood. Have you noticed any dents, cracks or deeper scratches? And how the bridge holds up. Something has become loose or worn. Is the poplar not too soft for a movable bridge?
@nihilist92
@nihilist92 2 жыл бұрын
Quite honestly this guitar is a bit of a tank as far as durability goes, perhaps even too much for me! But yes it still Stays in tune super well and the only wear in on the body itself is the finish from where my arm comes over - which is quite normal For Matte black. As far as the bridge goes, I did a load of research prior to buying this and it just seems like some people Get a bad FR special, and then others get lucky and it’s literally the roll Of the dice - however I think I’ve been one of the more fortunate people with this one as it seems to be fine. The only thing I would add is for all the guitars weight etc, it’s sustain isn’t great at all and I’d probably put that down to the small sustain block which I would definitely consider swapping out

Great playing dude 🤘🔥🤘 I’m considering getting this V as my first 7 string… just wondering how’s it’s holding up after 2 years ? Seriously considering saving up a bit more and getting the new Mark Heylmun 7 string Rhoads with the Fishmans 🤔 cheers 🍻

Thanks! So I actually sold this guitar as I had no need for a 7 String in the end. It’s unfortunate as this guitar looks great but I didn’t get on with it at all. Tuning stability wise it was great. But sonically it was noisy, thing sounding and lacked soul imo. It’s extremely neck heavy with the graphite reinforcement too.

Hey man! This guitar feels like a tank. I have another Jackson Rhoads and it’s so slinky compared to this. If you like heavy guitars then this is certainly for you as it weighs a ton! The only thing I would switch out is the floyd rose special. It holds tune just fine but doesn’t sustain as well as a floyd rose original would. All in all the guitar feels pretty solid!

@nihilist92

I didn’t really have any massive neckdive issues with it as the inverted headstock balance it out quite well. You could really feel the weight of this thing though especially in the reinforced neck so you’ve got to like really heavy guitars to want to own this I’d say
