Lovely tribute to Meat Loaf, his wonderful voice, and to the stunt people who get no recognition, thank you.

I went to see Meatloaf perform the whole Bat Out Of Hell album October 2021, 3 months ago. A stand in was there to replace Meatloaf. A few days later I went to his Facebook page to tell him I was disappointed and saddened to hear he was I’ll. He answered me and apologized!!! Said he’s working hard on getting better and hope I come to his show when he gets back. I was surprised he actually answered me.

It was sad, and yes, he had been sick for some time. I know he was due for some pretty serious back surgery too. He always seemed such a nice, kind man when ever you would see him in interviews. Thanks for sharing this story today Scott x

Bat out of Hell was my first vinyl album, I also met him at his book signing and had seen him perform live. I didn't agree with his politics, but loved his music. He will be greatly missed.

Bat Out of Hell (1978) was the first concert I went to where I didn't "tag along" with my big sister and her boyfriend. They had taken me to see the Eagles and to see BTO before. But Meat Loaf was just me and friends. FANTASTIC show. Next concert was Foghat. The 1970's had great music

Meat Loaf was my go to when anyone asked me "What's the best concert you've ever been too?" My answer is always Meat Loaf! His voice just pulls you into his world, that's the easiest explanation I can give. I've seen some of the best. Queen, Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney & Wings, Elton John, Kiss, ELO, on and on..... He was an exceptional gift to any music lover and passion exuded from his veins. He will be deeply missed by his Family and his Fans. Meat Loaf fans are the most loyal there are. RIP Meat!

I asked a younger person today if they knew Meatloaf. They said they didn’t. I said I’m sure they did. When I mentioned he was the bus driver from the movie ‘Spice World,’ the person understood and became really sad. It’s amazing how the difference of generation knows who Meatloaf was, even if they think they don’t. He’s a part of everyone’s life. I was literally saying a few weeks ago how I would love to see him in concert if he ever tours again I’m not exactly heartbroken, but I am very sentimental about this passing.

Interesting behind the scene tidbits of Eddie’s character. I thought how scary that looked to drive a motorcycle on such a narrow path and actors running off it. I always thought Meat Loaf was funny in his interviews and loved the Monk tv episode he was in playing a Witch Dr. RIP Meat Loaf.

I’ve got some videos you would like. I like in Hamilton which is where Richard O brown worked and started being inspired to write rocky horror. We have a statue of him as Riff Raff built by Weta Workshop who did Lord of a the Rings. He is in Embassy Park which has been painted and built rocky horror themed. There’s even a sonic oscillator and different quotes . I went to the unveiling of the statue years ago . I jumped over the railing to get to the vip section dressed in my underwear . I was in the news paper and on the news lol. I’ve played Frankenfurter a few times in the New Zealand shadowcast
