2 жыл бұрынMedia Vita is a medieval Catholic Gregorian Chant thought to have possibly originated as a 10th-century battle song, but as with a decent portion of medieval music, the exact time that it was created isn't precisely known. It was however recorded and commonly used during the late middle ages by the liturgy and to ask God for aid in times of need.

PS: I'm aware that calling this medieval song a "Crusade" song is a bit of a stretch, it was most likely sung by the liturgy, and potentially the crusaders during some of the later crusades, but as far as I know there's not any conclusive proof one way or another. I mostly used the name because that's what people are more likely to engage with, rather than saying "Gregorian Chant".

@@Mautiks I think it would be radical, I know serveral Catholic choir directors and serveral priests, I don't think any of them would take this song into the service. But I could be wrong. I am jusr baptized. However my Fiancee is cradle Catholic and a professional musician she thought this song was pieced together music wise.

We don’t need to be like Muslims with their warring sects who fight amongst one and other (they still live in the Stone Age) we can band together and be civil, we are part of the same religion just different branches, and our people know this / can see this - we might have fought and killed each other hundreds of years ago, but the past is the past and we as one people under one Christian umbrella need to stand together to preserve our way of life and people. Christianity may be the largest religion, but we as white Europeans are a minority in the world, yet we are the only continent expected to allow mass immigration from everywhere else in the world of all people from all cultures (regardless of how incompatible) and it’s not enough for them to be the majorities in their own lands, they want to outbreed us in our lands and take over. They all know it, they all want it, they pretend they don’t, they pretend they just want to come here and ‘live a better life’ (while simultaneously bringing their old ways and religion which primarily contributed to their old way of life being so bad) but that’s all just a cover story, they know what they’re doing as a collective. I’ve seen Muslims in videos for example openly on the streets walking around Bradford (Bradistan) talking about how this country will become Islamic and it’s their country now. They’re animals.

Wow, the french accent! Never heard latin in a french accent before, but as soon as I heard the words "sancte deus" on a Facebook short, I knew it was by french speakers. The A before the N is so nasally and the Rs are uvular rather than tapped or rolled.

@@joeyhurtado1 Nah, they have uvular R's, not bunched R's. And they're very nasally, which is very French. I also hear them hypercorrect nostri to nostris, I think, which is something the French would do. Any Irish people would do the R's differently, and probably the vowels would be influenced.

You can tell the solo singer is french, german, or some other germanic as he pronounces his r’s with his soft palate rather than the tip of the tongue like romance languages do (including Latin). Just something I noticed 😄
