an Eddie moment that always stood out to me was from "To sir with Ed" where he realizes he's home alone, you would think that a character like Eddie would enjoy the freedom that comes with being home alone, instead he panics, hides under his sheets and lies to his friends so they'll come over and he won't be alone anymore. I like when characters don't fallow their basic archetype to the letter, it's nice then they can have traits your not expecting that aren't dramatic enough to break the cohesion of their personality.

I remember the episode where the Eds had to babysit Jimmy, and at some point Eddy's getting ready to pelt double D with a basketball, but when Double D is literally shaking and crying because it brings back bad gym memories, he stops on the spot. Eddy isn't above messing with his friends or even tormenting them a little, but when he sees that he's legitimately terrorizing them he drops it without another thought.

Anyone noticed how double D hugged Ed at the end of the movie without sanitizing him or trying to clean him or cringing or anything? That’s development right there

Another theory of why Eddy tries so hard to be the one in control of the situation: He's spent his childhood being the one under someone else's control... namely, _his brother's_ control. He knows all too well what it's like for the little guy when the top dog decides to abuse their position of power... And so he fights to make sure that *he's* the one in charge and calling all the shots, to ensure that he doesn't wind up being in a position to be targeted for abuse and cruelty by those with power over him.

there's a moment from the movie that really warms my heart , It’s when the eds are trying to escape the cul-de-sac kids during the car chase scene, ed gets capture by rolf and ed was ready to sacrifice himself to protect the his friends, but double d and eddy weren't having it and they both risked their lives to save their friend .I always loved that little moment that really shows eddy cares for his friends.

One Eddy moment that I find wholesome is when Eddy was self conscious about his height and double D and Ed build him boots that help him become taller.

Ngl the "When am I gonna learn double d?" Scene hit hard. This movie made me bawl into tears 😭 anyone else cried?

Okay, bit late to this video but I am a fan of Ed Edd n Eddy (hell, wrote fanfiction relating to it before). I actually love how you explained all of Eddy's details. Because when you really look at it, he was just a lonely kid trying to play himself up for friendship and fame. And while Eddy may not be my favorite character, he's a character I do like. He has that kind of personality that, despite how bad it can be, can be a bit charming if you can get past all the rough edges. And I'd like to think his personality took more of a turn after the events of a movie... if there was ever a weird continuation by Antonucci (very unlikely considering Eddy's Voice actor, Tony Sampson, was blacklisted from the industry because he wanted a pay raise) then I think Eddy would still have that confident angle but less in the 'Fonzie' way and more in the 'I can do this' way.

Eddy was just lonely and wanted to belong by trying to copy his big brother which work out from him a lot. My fav Eddy moment is when he tears up and blames himself cause he cares about double D.

Oddly enough, Double D was my favourite because I think he was a girl at first... That's says more about me than it does about him but Eddy definitely grew on me

Watching the Eds lose was a subject at school all the time. We hated it! They seriously did an amazing job with the end of the show. I wasn't that fond of later seasons and haven't watched most of those episodes, but this one was just golden. Great video, Eddy is such a complex and hilarious character. I always liked Edd the most as a kid but I've grown to like Eddy more.

The best episodes of the show is when they just Pal around and be kids, Eddy isn't as big of a Jerk in those episodes and it shows he's happy and content just having fun, it's when the scams comes in he acts like this. The episodes where he acts like a kid is his true self and the scams is him trying to be like his brother. The reason everyone views Eddy's brother as an awesome guy when he acts like this is due to his age, he's older than everyone and little kids look up to older people, the reason it doesn't work for Eddy is he's trying to copy it to his peers, if he takes that persona to younger kids he'd be seen like how his brother was seen. The sad thing about Eddy though is the creator explains their adulthood, Ed and Edd become successful CEO's and Eddy works in a carnival like his brother so sadly after the movie at some point he reverts back to his old self

Not one specific eddy moment but I always liked how he was the only Ed to stand up to Sarah even though I'm sure he knew he'd get beat up anyway

Missed opportunity to name it the "pro" of cons

I have two younger brothers and in some ways, the Eds have left a profound influence on our personalities. Although we all relate to each of the Eds, as individuals, if we were to cosplay the Eds, this is how it would be like: I would be akin to Ed due to my creative imagination and according to the both of them, I'm the physically strongest of the three of us. The middle brother is akin to Eddy due to his knowledge of business and know-how to make money though keep in mind, he isn't anywhere near as greedy as Eddy. And finally the youngest of us is akin to Edd due to his overall intelligence and his knack of computers among other things.

Eddy is a ok character, I liked him in the first 3 1/2 seasons and the movie.

Cause most of the kids in this show have interesthing issues too, from Ed's abuse, Sarah's angry issues, Edd's neglect, the Kankers having a terrible home life, Kevin's inferiority complex, Jimmy's psycopath side, Rolf odd ways, Jhonny...yeah, something is clearly off with him... Yet I guess this is why the show was so good, all characters were in a way memorable (Nazz was a bit too vainilla, but maybe that was the point? The only "normal" one? Thought she really took extra care in her looks and if we considered she used to be fat in the past...thought she looked happy.)

You should review RX-2 from Garfield sometime. They are a pretty deep character for Garfield since even though they come off as just a funny scale that is there to make jokes about Garfield’s weight, RX-2 is confirmed to have an actually somewhat kind of understandable reason on what they do.

I miss this show

I grew up in a trio of friends, and I was Eddy: the short, loud, leader, but in realty I was an optimistic heroic Eddy. I always craved moments where Eddy was good in the show. My friend is a stoic Double D; an intellect but who hates society, and my other friend was a smarter Ed, with the same zany antics always with massive grown up strength.

Amazing video! Love how you changed your editing skills! My favorite characters are 4 of them (Ed, Double D, Nazz, and Rolf) but if I had to choose my favorite Ed, it's Double D. He's a wise man! He is always a Chad! I like him! So anyway, Eddy is one of the characters I happen to like and this video explains it all!

I LOVE Ed Edd N Eddy.

There's so much character in just the way the Eds run. Ed has little brainpower to go around, so when he runs, only his legs are in motion while the rest of his body flails uselessly behind him. Edd is the least atheletic of the Eds, and he also tries to be prim and proper, so his back is straight and his elbows are out. Lastly, Eddy is a greedy opportunist, so he always leans forward with his hands outstretched, ready to grab anything that comes his way, and his tongue flies out of his mouth at the thought of it.

If it werent for Eddy, Ed would've stayed locked in his basement watching movies and being abused by his family.
