Wonder how Ketamine would work with BPD

I've been on just about every antidepressant there is, and was on the highest dosage of Zoloft possible, and none helped. Dr Daniel Fox points out that antidepressants don't really work for those with BPD because it only has potential to reduce the surface symptoms of the depression but will NOT relieve the underlying symptoms from the BPD.

Exactly! Psychiatric medication works differently for everyone and it’s important to be aware of what things help and which ones do not. I’m happy you have a good understanding of what your body’s needs.

I’ve been on multiple antidepressants over the years some have helped me tremendously but had side effects that affected other aspects of my life. I had genetic testing done which aids in finding the best medications that are proven to work based on my genetics. It also tests your MTHFR conversion to see if it is normal or abnormal. I was also previously on a mood stabilizer which helped as well. Great video! Love your content. Very to the point and informative. 💗 Hope Tuna is doing well

I have never had much luck with meds either. In fact, at a particularly low point they seemed to make things much, much worse! Currently I'm taking a mood stabilizer with a mild antidepressant, but I don't think it's helping. I was still very depressed, anxious and suicidal, but once I got started with a good therapist, that's when I started seeing changes. I'm much less anxious now and find it easier to deal with daily life. Hang in there fam! ❤

I forgot all the details, but this is a common problem. That BPS depressions are not equal to normal depressions. But in essence it was that the BPS depression comes from the BPS emptiness. So it's not about emotional spikes (which get flattened by many anti depressions), but about this chronic emptiness.

I don’t see my psychiatrist until the day after tomorrow and I feel like I’m drowning, I’m on 150mg of zoloft but I’m not being treated yet for bpd until I talk to my psychiatrist. I hate feeling like this, I recently separated from my son’s father and he’s already having a new baby and getting married after only 4 months of the break up, and I am not handling it well at all.

I was wondering if you would do a video on medicating with cannabis? I know some with BPD find it helpful in elevating their mood and slowing down some of the up and down emotional instability. It seems for some it is a better natural alternative to pharmaceuticals. Anyways, keep up the good work with the videos. They have been very helpful

There are no medications for bpd because they're a behavior disorder not a brain disorder like schizophrenia, adhd, autism etc. Most psychiatrist believes medications are the only solution because bpds are untreatable, and treatment resistance, and lost cause that's the reason, and they can't predict whether a patient's gonna gain, or lose weight, seizures, stomach issues etc. Psychiatrist only know clinical research studies, and statistics some good some are not. And medications are usually temporarily not permanent for bpd only reduces the symptoms not full treated not prevention. We can agree, and disagree.

My girlfriend has BPD, I didnt know what it meant before like 20 days ago, i didnt undestand why she would suddenly at times tell me she didnt wanna talk to me. Once I flipped & i had an outburst & I told her I loved her but I didnt wanted to be with her cause my last relationships PTSD was getting triggered everytime she would tell me she didnt wanted to talk to me. This made her really scared, she cried & begged me to stay, after a while when I calmed down I apologised to her. She said its ok & that we’ll talk the next day, she called next day to ask me what i thought about us, i told her i wanna work on myself & i wanna be with her, she said she wants to be with me & loves me but doesnt wanna be in a relationship. I struggled at first but eventually told her im ok with whatever she wants. She told me she needed space, i never called her again, she would herself call me & then we would talk. I told her, i want her to talk to me only when she wants to not when i want to talk to her. We would talk once at night. Some nights it would be amazing, & feel same as before. Sometimes she would again feel distant. I was struggling with this push & pull but i tried to be patient. Meanwhile I started my yoga & meditation & started seeing a therapist. My girlfriend remained very volatile, she would one day be completely in love with me & some day would just hate me. Recently she told me talking to me is not healthy for her. Told me she doenst wanna talk to me anymore. Asked me to focus on my own mental health. I said she was abusing me emotionally just like my ex & that she treated me like shit & I didnt deserve this. She blocked me, I blocked her as well. Her insecurities arises from the fact that I am moving to another country & she is going to stay here for 3 more months before she can also move to the other country with me. She thinks im gonna cheat on her or find someone else & move on. But I love her with all my heart & my soul & I cannot be without her. I tried telling her all this but I dont think she believes me as she says she doesnt trust me. Currently she has blocked me from everywhere & Im waiting for her to come back to me. Now that Im learning more about BPD I understand how hard it must be for her, I feel shitty about myself & bad for her. Im gonna wait till she comes back to me.

Wow, thanks for sharing… I have BPD and sadly my relationships have similar dynamic like yours. I know it is f…ing hard to deal with us(most of us) but I never understood why my exes didn’t break up with me(especially when I was younger, it was chaotic…. Because of me. I feel really bad about some things that I did. I don’t know if she has a therapist or someone like that… t I wish I was able to tell you what is the right thing to do. But as I got older and I’ve been in therapy+meds, I am a different girl than I was 10 years ago. I still struggle, it’s gonna take a long time to feel…ok-ish. At least I hope that I’ll be more stable(and everyone else with BPD). I hope your life will be great with or without her. And again, thanks for your post ❤

Medication can definitely be a life saver for a lot of people! It’s important to keep in mind that it might take some time to figure out what medications and doses work best for you, so don’t give up if it doesn’t work right off the bat. Medication can give us that extra boost we need so that other forms of treatment (i.e. therapy) can be more effective. You should consult your doctor/psychiatrist to figure out what the best route is for you! There has been a lot of success with medication in the treatment of the disorders you listed. Hope this helped and nice to meet you ☺️

Lexapro helped stable my ups and downs. Weirdly, a psychiatrist percribed that to me because she's was worried about high blood pressure, not giving me Adderall. So she.. wellbutrin killed sleep, so she perscribed lex to see, and it made me clear headed kinda and more metally stable wife made fun it kinda so I got off and got on adderall and now she thinks I have bpd I kinda see her point due her working in mental field.
