playing cow punk (The Earps, Phx AZ) in this era of music was the best time of my life. great times, with some of the greatest musicians I've ever known. JD was a character on stage, but a humble and sweet dude off. Great vid. I thought this chapter in music was lost to time. thank you.

Thank you for the video, Tome. Th' Shack Shakers have been one of my favorite bands for many years. Wilkes is from my area of the U.S.(he's from Kentucky. I'm from just a few hours away in the Missouri Boot heel). I've seen him several times throughout the years (both with LSS and his other projects). Got to meet him in Paducah one evening after a Dirt Daubers show. Really swell guy. He's a phenomenal showman and one hell of a harmonica blower. A good story-teller too.

There could almost be a part 2 and part 3 to this. JD is going through a crisis and some say he’s gone schizophrenic but it seems he’s had his identity stolen. Tome would do a good job covering this but I’m not sure if the paper trail is still on social media

Fuck I think I seen em here in Winnipeg. Farrell Bros. Would’ve opened. Maybe around 2007? Or am I off
