This is the unofficial story Bob Log III, an American slide guitar one-man band who claims to have lived in a car since the 90s. Thirty years ago, he decided to make a living playing slide guitar, kicking drums and singing through a telephone-helmet.

We saw Bob around 20 years ago in Australia and yeah, it was one of the wildest things I've ever seen, such great fun .... dream scenario for me would be Bob and the Mummies on a double bill ...

Awesome dude. I was at the Ween show in Detroit when DooRag was supposed to open and his drummer bailed on him. One of the Ween fellas told him to just toss a mic in his guitar case and little did I know, I was witnessing history.

holy shit. i've spoken to him about that show - apparently the brothers ween encouraged him to go on solo. the country greats tour with the shit creek boys, right?

@mj.l yeah buddy! That'd be the one! He told some wild story about his drummer being stung by a bumblebee, had drawn some sloppy depiction of it on the back of a show flier in marker that he gave to someone in the crowd lol. Years and years later I found myself working at a venue in Lansing and when he came thru and I met him, I put 2 and 2 together, realizing how lucky I was to have been witness to the Genesis of Bob Log III all those years ago.

I was lucky enough to see Bob Log III perform once. He is a very skilled musician, I've seen lots of very skilled musicians. As a showman though, he has few rivals, truly top tier performer.
