These are the memes I miss from the late 90s/early 00s. No existential dread, no reminder of how bad things have gotten, no disgusting perversion, just fun cute animals doing silly things. I'm not saying "memes used to be GOOD!" or any boomer take like that, Im just saying I miss the innocence of most early internet memes.

According to the people who own the livestream, Mr. Fresh has been captured and taken to the vets in order to treat an eye infection he had recently caught. Given that he will be given jags alongside his eye treatment, he could no longer be considered a stray and will be fully eligable for adoption if someone in China wants to adopt him. Athough it's possible we may not see Mr. Fresh on the livestream again after this, at least he will be able to side-eye his owner(s) if he gets adopted. On a side note, alarm has been raised as a group of delinquents have "put a bounty" on Mr. Fresh, asking for the cat's life in exhange for a money reward. Although this could be a troll, it's nothing to take lightly due to the way street cats are sadly often treated and viewed in China (laws still do not protect the majority of stray animals). I hope it all works out for Mr. Fresh in the end, may he have a fresh start after this ordeal.

TNR does a lot of good. I used to live in an area that was prime animal dumping grounds. With the help of a shelter I managed to capture all but one cat and got them fixed for free so they would stop breeding and leading to more cats. I befriended all these wonderful cats (and some birds). I could never catch sneaky Pete though.

I love these cats and the support they get from stuff like this. We need more organizations like these, seriously.

On the note of TNR, if you ever see a street cat with one of its ears clipped at the top, that usually means it has already been TNR’d, so the volunteers don’t need to take them. :) some sources I’ve found say whichever ear it is indicates it’s sex, but I’ve seen differing reports of if it’s the right one for a male and the left one for a female or visa-versa.
