Now that our former foster daughter "Miss A" is well past her 18th birthday, graduated H.S., and is (as she says) lower-case grown... It's time for you all to meet her! She updates us about work, school, future, and what it was like to be on the channel.

it melts my heart to know that not only is Auriana thriving, but so is her family, ESPECIALLY that you still are able to have a relationship with them. i admire her parents not only for healing themselves for whatever happened that put their kids into foster care, but to have and encourage a relationship with you all. i can't imagine the mix of emotions haha. i hope Auriana and her family keep on doing awesome

I remain in awe that you made such a huge impact on Aurianna’s life that she continues to be apart of your family. Y’all stepped up and supported her so much that she is part of your family still and I think that is wonderful! For me that is the goal of foster care. Making an impact on a child so much that they are family forever no matter what! I’m so grateful that she has so much support from her family, from yall, and from the internet. Aurianna is so loved by so many!!

This was the update I didn't know I needed today! I also wanted to say that not only am I someone who plans to foster in the future, but you're channel made me aware of ways to support kids in care through my work in the healthcare field. Speaking of healthcare, you can often get scrubs secondhand if nurses or other hospital staff switch hospital systems that happen to use a different color! Might be worth asking any healthcare worker friends if they kept old ones from an old job or something too.

It's awesome to put a face with the amazing personality! Aurianna really seems to have a good head on her shoulders! But at the same time, Whitney, I was really struck by the love and pride in YOUR facial expressions, reactions, and eyes!!! It's VERY evident how much of an impact you guys have had on each other! As a fellow foster parent, I understand how much we care about our bonus kiddos and it's super evident in this video!!!

HER HAIR!!!!! I love it. Her name is so perfect for her too it really does fit. And “I’m grown💅” has me laughing so hard. Also have her see if any colleges she’s thinking about gives scholarships for the top 10% of her class. I know a lot of the colleges near me offer money for top 10% of your class

Would you ever set up a Go Fund Me for us to donate towards a car? She’s as beautiful as I imagined! So exiting to finally meet her! 🥰🥰 my daughter is a nursing student and her roommate was a foster child that gets her tuition paid for since she was in the foster system. All those extras add up though! I hope she can get her tuition covered!

I remember watching the pre-placement preparations for Miss A. and hearing the excitement and nervousness in your voice about having a teen come. Then the second video sharing how the first few days went and seeing the calm and peace come back on your face. Flash-forward to this video and finally seeing Aurianna for the first time I feel such happiness seeing how you two interact still like you did in all the other videos. Congratulations on nursing school!

Poshmark and mercari for scrubs…can find a lot of great condition used one. Plain color pants and then mix & match tops (most of my Winnie the Pooh scrub tops came for one of these)

My adopted daughter just turned 18 in June. She's beautiful just like Aurianna and also loves babies and scrubs! Lol 😅😂❤ What a blessing to finally meet her and hear her story and see her lovely face. ❤

Miss A is an amazing young lady. I hope things are going good for her and family. She is so loved. I remember her loving sawyer so much with all the cuddles and love. I hope she is still addicted to the spicy chips too. On the name front, the Archbishop of Canterbury knows my name but the bishop and dean of Salisbury don’t.

It's so nice to see what a positive and supportive foster environment can do for young people. It's clear that she valued her time with your family and you can tell what a wonderful experience she had with you. The fact that your families are in contact with each other in such a positive way also shows what the ultimate goal of fostering is - reunification.

Affordable scrubs: you can sometimes get scrubs for $5/piece at walmart/lowes, especially on clearance. If you're not super picky on color AllHeart usually has at least a few styles on clearance in the $4-6/piece range. Anywhere you shop if you want the ones that look more like dress clothes or more like active wear they'll cost more, but it sounds like Arianna would prefer the ones that are more basic anyway. Also unisex tends to be cheaper than women's scrubs and also more durable. Amazon or thrift stores might be another option. I wouldn't buy too many until she has a nursing (or student nurse) job as some healthcare settings require a specific color and not all of them provide scrubs in that color, so you don't want to spend a lot of money just to turn around and spend it again when you change jobs.

It's so nice to meet you Ariana (hope I spelled it correctly)! I love how you describe being "lower case grown" -- it's a perfect description. So many teens turn 18 and feel this huge, crushing weight of needing to be 100% self sufficient instead of recognizing that becoming an adult is a process, not an event. InTERdependence is more valuable than independence because it is based on relationships you maintain where there is give and take depending on strengths, resources, and even phases of life. I tell my own teen and young adult kids that I'm 54yrs old and still need my Mommy, and there are things she needs me for. I honestly think other cultures do a much better job at this in the "standard American" culture. There are many Filipino families in my church community and watching them interact as one big organism is so beautiful!

I'm so happy to "meet" her!! She definitely has a bright future ahead of her! And girl I gotchu!! Walmart and Bealls/Bealls Outlet all have cheap scrubs and they are decent quality (air dry them to make them last longer). Also in my tiny hometown in Florida they have scrubs at almost every consignment/thrift shop for dirt cheap!! Sometimes they are super cute, so it is worth looking. I got basic black scrub pants so almost any color top would match them.

Nice to meet you Auriana! From watching you and seeing your compassion and love I can say you will be an awesome nurse! My Mom is a retired NICU nurse and actually saw the first incubators being rolled into the NICU. I think you will be fantastic in the NICU or the PICU!
