Really impressed with their community spirit. The Ministry of Agriculture or Tourism should honor the family by rewarding them with an income package for their social duties.

Las Lapas meaning the macaws or clinging vines. I have asked people in the area about the meaning but could not find anyone who knows. You can get to this spot via the Arima Blanchisseuse Road or from Lopinot if you have a 4X4, or a 1hr hike along the road. One of the best views in Trinidad and certainly one of the cleanest maintained privately by Mr. James & family. Strange thing, some Trinis will come here and comment on the cleanliness but still throw rubbish down the hill and even in front of the man house. Mr. James tirelessly cleans nonetheless. Very generous and grateful guy. I will bet if you ever put money into his donation box you will end up with something from his garden to carry home. I once got 3 ripe cocoa and a bunch of bananas after dropping something in the box. This guy and his family are really friendly to all visitors.

You are blessed. Your innocence is your riches. Don't get blighted by the material things of this world. God is providing, he knows what is your needs. You are in paradise. I hope that your lifestyle doesn't change after this because many people are going to want to invade now. You are one in ten million. God be with you and your family. Stay blessed. When you visit them, you leave feeling blessed and enlightened in spirit and you never leave empty-handed - you are sure to be given some kid of fruit, vegetable or plant. They are a wonderful genuine loving couple. The kids are a delight. When you visiting Carry something for them...no matter how small- at least for the kids.

We should not wait on the Government to assist them let us all contribute what ever we can to them when we visit them and we should also make and share videos of this place so the world will see this priceless treasure

This is one of my favorite spots in Trinidad. I've been here many times .The James family they are very hospitable and welcoming. They have made our visit enjoyable everytime we're there . His love for his family and nature is very genuine and pure. I've been to that lookout many times and that place is always beautiful, clean and well kept. Never knew that family is responsible for it being so well kept. The place is always so cold and seems to have something magical. That lookout is the highest in Trinidad and Tobago at 600 plus meters. Directly above it is tstt stratospheric tower at closer to 700 meters . Truly beautiful.

I have stopped and passed several times at this breathtaking spot and met this family , They are a hard working nature concious family. In their small piece of paradise they have done more for tourism than all the governments we have ever had.

Would love to visit and hopefully donate to them once this pandemic calms down.

I visited the lookout and had the opportunity to meet the James family. Words cannot do justice to describe the beauty of this place nor the warmth and hospitality of the James family. I absolutely cannot wait to visit again.

Oh wow, how beautiful!!!! I left Trinidad 29 years ago and never heard of this place until tonight. I wish I could say I will visit, I am turned off by the crime. I do wish this family lots of success and I will be making a donation.

This video really got my attention.This family is so humble even though their village seems to be neglected by the authorities and the rising cost of living.They inspire me and I'm sure many others.Mrs.James said she does not work but she is a housewife,what she may not know is that she does one of the most demanding full time job right now.A housewife's job is 24 hours job.God bless her humble heart.I would surely love to visit this family and make them a part of my life.....I can learn alot from them. May the Good Lord cover this family with the blood of Jesus and protect them from this covid 19 virus and any physical or spiritual harm.May he go before them and make every crooked paths straight,may he cause his face to shine upon them and pour out his favour onto every area of their lives in Jesus holy name Amen.

Very idyllic. Paradise is not lost it must be maintained. The James family sets a great example of this. I would love for his kids to be extremely computer literate, and knowledgeable. They can become experts in the field of aesthetic and conservationist ecology. Of course, a night in the forest may involve certain reptiles best avoided.
