Because only someone that knows absolutely anything at all about the two could seriously believe that Muslims are an oppressed category or that Islam is just a poor peaceful religion that just wants to coexists but yet it cannot because of the cruel people around that are always intent on discriminating against it. Do yourself and others a favor and actually research on Islam before pretending to having an opinion on the topic.

And the reason for not standing to the flag is because of the many masacres that the us governement was doing in many islamic countries in addition to racism against minorities he had some idioligy to stand for he should get respect even if his idiology is against the gov who pretend to be democratic and support evry ethnecity .... Yes yes yes. Mahmoud was the best. Allah bless him (I hope that is a correct phrasing, I am a life long atheist, so I don’t know). I remember watching him beat the Bulls in their 72 win season and wondering how he could be stopped and why no one else played that way. And I remember his protest. I supported him then and I support him now. Thank you, Mahmoud, for your on court exploits, and thank you much more for your off court principles. Allah akbar.

I met the late Bison Dele just before he passed thru to Spirit. He came to our local Gym in Byron Bay to play pick up. As a former teammate of Abdul Raufs he could not stop raving about how AMAZING he was. He said he was the best shooter he had ever seen. Great video. Thanks mate

Great video! I’m from New Orleans and I was 10 years old when he was a freshman at LSU. He and Magic Johnson were the reasons I started to love the game of basketball. All of us Nola kids were trying to shoot and play like him back then. He had a big impact on us.

One of the first pure "walking buckets". When Curry started to do Curry things, he was my first thought, "I've kinda seen this before". Curry in this era has taken it to another level. Lightning quickness & a quick pure release, just a thing of beauty.👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Indeed he was "walking buckets." In other words, he was the type of guy that when he released the ball, you knew he was going to make it. Isiah made the comment that sometimes when some players shoot and score, its like slapping you in the face. That is a great way to describe Abdul Rauf's J. It was like he going to stick a dagger in you, and it was like he wanted you to feel that dagger. Shots were literally "in your face." Definitely, bar none, my favorite player of all time.

Back in 2016, I had to chance to talk to former Heat Spin Doctor Rony Seikaly, and he told me that Mahmoud used to take shots that coaches used to cringe at. But the main difference between him and Steph is that 3PT shooting wasn't that big part of the game that it isn't in Steph's days.

mahmoud abdul-rauf had those off court issues that hindered his career in the NBA. That is why we are getting what Steph Curry is doing now. Even if the intention of what he did was good, the world wasn't that open to it at the time, like what Colin Kaepernick did in 2016.

While Phil Jackson was GM of the Knicks he correctly made this point and internet idiots began abusing him for it. What is even more odd is that Phil began to back down. Like you coach, I'm of the mind that Phil was right. Chris Jackson (his original name before his religious conversion to Islam) was even better than Curry in my eyes because he was more athletic than Curry and he could do it in the far more physical 90s era. It is unfortunate that he got blackballed. If he had done what he did during the social media era, I'm sure he would've been able to keep his job because he would've had enough support come to his defense. Also, the time period in which he was being blackballed wasn't too long after 9/11 and the nation was very much in a patriotic bloodthirsty frenzy. So, the media and the league were very much able to misrepresent his position and cloak theirs in a patriotic veneer.

I graduated high school in 1992. That truly was the era of only shoot a 3 if you are WIDE OPEN!!! I played jr college and had a few games where I made 8 3s. I am 6'5 and athletic and if I played today with my shot I'd easily played D1. I'm so jealous of the green light from 3 these guys today get.
