I’m in the US and keep hearing that food shortages are coming and we should all plant some things. We need to get back to local control of crops so global corporations can’t do whatever they want to our food like poison it with chemicals and destroy crops at will. Great to see such beautiful plants growing there!

That land looks absolutely amazing , the patches of corn that didn't do well just needed lime added , ph levels . You actually can look at putting Wambugu Apples there because it makes your operation far more profitable , you can plant 200 trees on 1 acre. Rural land is under-utilized and definitely the way to go.

Well done for starting. The problem of uneven growth could be emanating from uneven watering. From the video I notice that you are using a valve to water each strip (or bed) more like flood irrigation. A move to drip irrigation might help sort this problem out and bring other benefits as well. Talk to the drip irrigation companies

Fantastic, we have to grow our own food locally and move away from the western models of food production. Covid should have taught people worldwide that, if nothing else. I don't want to live in a world where I am relying on food imports even from a neighboring country let alone from another continent. We should all nature our own gardens too. My mother grew all of our vegetables and herbs in our suburban garden and she reared chickens. We ate fresh food every day, from the garden to our plates in less than 30 mins. Relatives used to come and visit not to see us, but just to harvest from our garden. 😂We all have robust health decades on. I thank God for her wisdom doing this even though she is a professional and worked 9-5 in an office.

Great video! Not sure if you will see this anymore, but you should consider doing permaculture farming and food forestry. There are 7 layers of vegetation in a forest and each one of them can be used to grow food and medicine. Since you live in a warm climate and do a lot of manual farming, this could benefit you greatly. When practicing food forestry, not only will the productivity of the land go up, but the environment will also benefit from this set up. Forests bring more rain into the local ecosystem and can help make land more fertile. A healthy forest will help replenish the soil and be a beacon of a refuge for wildlife as well. I highly encourage you to do some more research about these concepts, and let me know what you think! I'm looking forward to hearing what you learn.
