The over-the-top goofy humor is what makes this game a classic. Many games have copied its slap-stick style gimmicks but none have successfully ever captured the charm of earthworm jim.

I used to have this game on the SNES, but when I saw how even more awesome the Genesis version was, I sold the SNES version and got the Genesis version.

***** The Genesis version has more sounds and voices. It also has the Intestinal Distress level, which the SNES version didn't have.

All videogames where made for children back then this is now an adults game though as those kids are now adults. 2020 is weird though even Pokémon which was designed towards children at it's peak is now mainly played by adults.

One of the best platform games I've ever played. Earthworm Jim and MK3 on Mega Drive was my childhood. Happy times :-)

Man I forgot how funny some of this shit was. I was laughing when he was jumping up hitting against the top of the tubes. God I hated that glass ball thing SO bad, I _hate_ timed runs in video games to begin with & that glass ball cracking was so nervewracking. I forgot some stuff, like riding the hamster :D

I've recently been rewatching the animated series of Earthworm Jim and then realized just how great the games capture the sheer wackyness of that series. Both game 1 and 2 are just awesome and incredibly fun to play despite their challenging difficulty sometimes. There was also a 3rd game for the N64 but it was... not as good to say the least.

Хотел добавить, безусловно сеговская версия лучшая того времени, но хочу отметить, как шикарно сделали HD версию. Там буквально перенесли все, и лишь убрали мелкие баги , один из главных,это то, что не надо дрочить кнопку бесконечно, что бы делать вертолоет) Достаточно просто ее держать) Это я считаю главным достоинством HD версии, спасибо им за это, игра стала проходима)))

Both have the pain in the ass Peter Puppy escort missions, the missions I really don't like. EWJ 2 had themissions again with Peter Puppy, and his babies, and those are also a major pain in the ass. The SNES EWJ 2 is a major improvement for the series on that console, and that one outdoes the Genesis EWJ 2. Seems as though Shiny realized, "oh shit, we can make more money, lets make it good for the SNES" and they did. And they made money, and everyone was happy.

This is one of my all time favorites, this really needs a come back, but with the following, good music not just back round noise, barely or majorly, in a good way, updated game play, and finally, get Tommy Tallarico and Chris Hülsbeck to do all the games audio!!!

To reply my own question: probably not. Looking at this and other videos of the game, it seems like the screen doesn't let you go until the cow is launched. But still I think it was a great funny idea for the ending!

One of the unforgettable game for me lol. "Buttville" = @$$#%! for me as child 🤣. "Down the tubes" is ma favourite stage and likable theme. And Mr.cow ( - -) sure survived long enough yo ruined our day in the end there 🤣😅. Enjoyable playthtough from Smokefrostheart and great Earthworm Jim video posted by World of Longplays 👏.

Ok the level w the pink dog gave me anxiety. I had this game on gameboy and I've always loved it. I never finished it tho. 2 hard. It was genius then and is genius now. Even tho ur not getn the secrets which is kind of annoying its still good gameplay. Thanks cubex55

SNES version of this one has become expensive, so I went with the Genesis version for this one, and got the second one on both 16 bitters. If the first one for SNES shows up cheap, I'll get it to have the set (unless the SCD version shows up locally for a fair price, EWJ 2 on Saturn was going for over $30 when I saw it locally!).

Well, Megadrive is the actual name of the console. That's how it's named in Japan and in Europe. It was renamed "Genesis" in north America because "Megadrive" was already a copyrighted trademark there. Otherwise, it would have been named Megadrive too, in the USA.
