1:32:53 Oh boy, I made the achievement set for Robodemons. I found it one day going through a rom set and felt so cursed by the music that I had to do something to alleviate it. I released it in January 2020. In retrospect while trying to lift my own curse, I may have accidently just ended up spreading it to others. I haven't tried making an achievement set since. P.S. If you're insane enough to attempt the deathless run know that while the game only shows four hearts, there is no cap to them. Stockpile hearts on the early levels to survive the later ones. During testing I would give myself 50 hearts and even then it's pure suffering.

If you don't mind sharing, what kind of skill set(s) do you need to make an achievement set? I just started learning Python and I'm wondering if I'll be able to transfer that over. And do different systems require different code languages?

I don't know why it never occurred to me to just use Metal Man's sawblades all the time. They're multi-directional, powerful, and energy-efficient. And enemies drop energy capsules frequently enough that you can use it without worry. It's a mighty fine weapon.
@DMThigpen
@DMThigpen Ай бұрын
If you REALLY want to min-max it, if you pause the game every third shot the energy never goes down, because it only goes down after four shots and the counter for that resets whenever you pause.

I try not to since the Metal Blades are SO ubiquitous that it kinda snaps the game’s challenge in half? Don’t get me wrong, they’re wonderful weapons! but they’re past the point of “too good” that nothing else really even compares - which is kinda like the game as a whole. It’s good, but still unbalanced

@@g.u.959 Playing without Metal Blades more than halves the amount of fun playing the game as an experience. The game is as fun as it is because Metal Blade is one of the few times on the NES they made a boss special weapon that had utility and was efficient enough to use regularly. It'd be like if you insisted on no Yoshis because it trivializes Mario World. Maybe so but what's the point of playing that version at all

I'm really hoping The Science pulls through for Mega Man 3 when its time comes. The only thing 3 doesn't do better than 2, and even this point is arguable, is the music. It has more stages, you get to fight all the Mega Man 2 bosses again, AND the slide mechanic adds a movement option that makes maneuverability breezier. Plus Mega Man 3 doesn't have a Metal Blade-esque weapon that marginalizes enemies for the rest of the game and it doesn't have any whack-ass bosses like the Boobeam Trap, which you can automatically fail for not having enough ammo for a certain weapon. But even if that wasn't enough, 3 also introduces Proto Man. I contend it's a universal truth that introducing an antagonistic rival with a mysterious connection to your main character is cool as hell.

I know its just so over said, but damn that Mega Man 2 soundtrack is just the best. As for the robot master designs, 1 did have cool designs, but you cant tell me Heat Man being a Zippo lighter isnt cool as hell. Wood Man being a tree trunk pretty neat too, and weird. A wooden robot, crazy! Just a game that lots of people love, and for good reason. Keep rockin Jeff, this series is just the best. Science Rules.

It's not actually that hard of a game TBH you just gotta abuse the rapid fire when you directly hit an enemy, its mostly about knowing the good routes thru the stages (when you get to ones that arent completely linear). Final boss is predictably satan or some version of him

Very curious to see how future MegaMan titles will place after this because all things considered, while MM2 is the most casual of the series, and I mean that it is the most palatable for new comers, it is not the best MegaMan game. It actually has quite a lot of flaws when stacked up against its successors. For me, 3 is the best on the NES, followed closely by 4. However, I do not expect 4 to come close to the top of the list. 3 on the other hand, derserves a spot near, or at the top, that is a near flawless title. Anyways, glad to see the Blue Bomber place so high, I loves me some Megaman

Honestly, when Mega Man 1 ranked as highly as it did, I had good feeling Mega Man 2 could go the distance since it's a massive improvement in every way. That's not to say Mega Man 1 is bad, it's just that 2 does it all better. Technically it does fall off with some rough level design in the fortress stages so it helped it to quit where Jeff did, but obviously nobody has the time to literally beat every game on the list to rank them.
