Yeah, it's disappointing. I get that they were seemingly trying to keep him to X1-X4 era attacks, but still. Even Zero got his toolkit massively expanded in Infinite.

@@TheSeventhForce The worst part is that Zero's MvCI gimmick of charging his buster to give him new attacks (C-Slash, the ice stab from X4, F-Splasher, etc) appears to be a clear nod to X's ability to charge his weapons for new attacks...wtf Capcom. Nonetheless, I appreciate your attention to detail in your vids (almost no one would've acknowledged Megaman Xtreme) Good stuff man. Do you plan on covering Dante or Vergil .?

@@mersunarytigre Yeah, it's baffling. And I unironically love the Xtreme games, so I had to shout it out somewhere. And yes, I plan on covering every character in the series, those two included. Vergil or Trish will probably come first since Dante's video will likely be a comparatively bigger endeavor.

@@TheSeventhForce Fun fact; Upon seeing Trish be playable in MvC3, I used to think her moveset was mostly made up but it took me about 5 years to see an in depth review of DMC2 where the reviewer revealed that you can indeed unlock Trish as a playable character who wields Sparda. I'm assuming Trish's few made up moves made it into DMC4:SE released after UMvC3. Can't wait to see other characters analyzed though. Just got done with Dr Doom's analysis and you did a good job educating me on him

Capcom sometimes. even X itself in MVC doesn't have air Movest, even though in the game itself it does.

Might legitimately be the best conceived and executed aspect of Infinite outside of the gameplay. It's a shame it'll probably languish in obscurity.

The funny thing about Infinite is that for all of its faults and bad press, it's technically the second highest selling MvC game of all time, behind vanilla MvC3 at 2.2 million sold. (If one were to combine ports and such, UMvC3 is the highest selling game, sitting at around just under 3 million units sold when combining the 360/PS3/Vita/PS4/XB1/PC ports; Capcom considers the original release on 360/PS3/Vita and the 2017 re-release as two separate things, though) It's interesting seeing a game bury a series while still actually being a relative financial success. I think between Infinite's reception, SF5 having to be fixed over several years and their fighting game division being completely overhauled as a result of both games, they've been a bit more conservative with fighters. I don't know if Capcom will ever attempt to support more than one fighting game at a time these days, but I think if they ever do decide to have another fighter alongside SF6, it'd either be a Vs. game or something bonkers like letting Hideaki Itsuno do the Rival Schools 3 he's been wanting to do for decades.

MvC4 is more likely to happen now thanks to the MvC Legacy Collection.

To be honest the lackluster arcade mode holds this game back more than the lack of X-Men characters.

I mean if all of the multiverse’s planets and stars aligned we could get one big fix patch or Ultimate version of the game, albeit unlikely. If Star Wars Battlefront 2 can get such late major fixes from EA and end up at least somewhat alright, there might still be a chance

Oh so it's bad that MVCI was "promoting" the MCU but if TWA promoting X-Men '97 suddenly no one would have an issue with it being used to promote a Marvel product.

Agreed. I don't have an issue with them sticking to the first four X games for his moveset, but they could've gotten a lot more creative than they did. I don't dislike his current moveset, but there's a lot of missed potential.

Yeah, it gets a bad rap compared to the Capcom developed crossovers, but being kind of offbeat and filled with SNK-esque touches gives it a unique charm. Definitely deserves to be talked about more, in any case.
