The reason why Houndoom and Scizor melted is because their Pokédex entries both state that that’s what happens when they overexert themselves, and as they kept missing, they kept building up energy and melting.

3:40 Houndoom and Scizor actually melts because Mega Houndoom dex state that :Houndoom’s entire body generates heat when it Mega Evolves. Its fearsome fiery breath turns its opponents to ash. 3:47 It was actually Mega Manetric because the Pokedex state that:Too much electricity has built up in its body, irritating Manectric. Its explosive speed is equal to that of a lightning bolt.

Now we have shit like Giratina, Rayquaza, Necrozma, and so many more BETTER legendaries, that Mewtwo is like power levels in DBZ post Freeza-arc, irrelevant.
