I’ve not watched yet but are we sure they haven’t swapped the engine completely so that it’s more powerful for extremely heavy loads? I would guess that even the largest factory engines aren’t made for loads of huge weight

You can order a truck with any engine manufacturer you want from the biggest manufacturers like Volvo, Freightliner, Mack, Peterbilt, etc. Whether it is an in house engine or one from a company like Detroit. You can get a Detroit diesel in a ford built semi from the factory if you order it, even though Detroit motors is a GM company.

So in America and Australia you can order A volvo with a cummins engine if you want yeah i'll give you that 1. Volvo europe you can have a Volvo engine or a Volvo engine. The FH which is the truck in question came originally with a 12ltr straight 6 in rating's from 380-420 bhp and there was the 16ltr straight 6 which was a 520 to start with. The truck in the video the 1 which i commented about is a version 3 FH with the volvo 13ltr straight 6 rated at 480 which to anyone that knows is quite clearly displayed on the cab side. Without serious modification to the cab floor or even raising the cab you wouldn't fit a V8 under the cab because everything under there is designed to fit yeah go on you guessed it A VOLVO ENGINE none of which are a V8 they're all straight 6's even the might 16ltr 750 bhp monster that they only let us and the Aussies have. And guess what other european manufacturers offer engine wise. Mercedes you can have a merc engine or a merc engine, M.A.N you can have a M.A.N engine or a M.A.N engine, Iveco you can have an Iveco engine or Iveco. Scania the same, DAF is the paccar motor which was developed by DAF in europe and then certified to US EPA regulations 25 years ago before they developed their own big engine you could get a cummins but only rated at 530 from the factory, Renault they use rebadged Volvo unit's with there own software but seeing as Volvo is the parent company that's understandable, Now you go crawl back from wherever it is you decided to pop your tiny brain from and don't tell me i know nothing about truck's

We were on Ft. Hood and there was an accident and HEMMT was on it's side. Our heavy operator with a 75 ton rotator offered to roll it back on its wheels. They said, no we got it. 11 hours later with a few LMTVs and chain, they pulled it over... Yes sometimes the military over complicates things, and other times they don't...

@@johnrtrucker It's a 60's Mustang. They are sought everywhere. I will say one thing about German engineering. I don't know who designed the injector hold downs for the 3.0L straight 6 CDI but they were either drunk or stupid. Same goes for the company that made the underhood wiring coating as well. Outside of those unforgivable flaws the E-320 CDI we had was awesome. It got 35-40 mpg cruising at 75-80mph and handled great as well. Oh and the idiot who designed the key system that would let you into the car but wouldn't start because the $1600 sensor died should also be flogged. I loved the car but not so much the way it was built. At least I didn't pay new price for it or I might be really upset.

Trucking in the US has been an integral part of the nations economy for as long as they’ve existed, more than any other nation by far. Even China is more than tripled by the U.S. lol. Why do you think the US made everyone else look like a joke in WW2 when it came to manufacturing of vehicles and transportation. We had so much transportation built into our society via trucks and vehicles in general that we simply increased that manufacturing and had so much leftover we sent it to everyone else as well lmao. Trucks and jeeps especially, even the Soviet Union receiving vast armadas of American made vehicles that were likely the only reason they didn’t just collapse vs Germany. While Germany has to rely on many horses, the Soviet Union among others was receiving near endless amounts of logistical transport vehicles from the U.S.

@@yellowdrink9428 both of you are correct. The ECM can be programmed with a top vehicle speed and the same can be done through the TCU or gearing can be changed in the transmission as well as the differential as you stated..

@@LKN117 But the speed is not limited to 88 by the engine power. It is electronically limited at that speed. In older models you could pull the fuse of the limiter. With previous generation Scania you could add a magnet to the sensor on the gearbox so make the truck think it is standing still and sleeping, while actually driving without speed limiter :)
