If you’re in Southern California, the biggest imax screens are in Irvine and Ontario. Also they both can do 70mm imax but for some reason Ontario isn’t showing dune part 2 in 70mm. They did Oppenheimer in 70mm though. Might be the distributors choice.

it's NOT inflation, it's corporations artificially raising the price of everything as much as possible. As prices for every day goods have skyrocketed and people are spending more and more on the same things, corporations like McDonalds, Tyson, Kroger, etc (those are just some examples that have EXPLICITLY called out their profit increases since 2020) have made record-breaking profits.

I had two friends that really wanted to see Dune together, but we couldn't get it to work. So I saw it Saturday night at 10:45, and then I went back in the morning at 11 AM to see it with the other friend. Loved it just as much the second time around.

I think all these companies were making bank during the pandemic, and now that things are more or less back to normal, they're still expected to make more money than previous years. So that's why they're cutting corners and raising prices to meet these unrealistic expectations of making more and more money.

My whole family and I watched Lost and Heroes and it got hard at times to watch both when the writers strike happened, but eventually we absolutely had to give up on Heroes. Glad I saw Lost to the end, though.

Severance wasn’t nearly as good as everyone makes it out to be. It starts out genuinely kind of scary and mysterious, and ends in a really tropey boring sci-fi, less engaging west world way. I wanted more horror, and got predictably generic sci-fi

I definitely remember last year looking at jack in the box's pricing on grubhub, on 4/20 everything was 3 times the price, the next day it went back to normal. I remember beating FF7 when I was 9 years old. looking back idk how I beat it we didnt even have a computer at the house, I would only get one or two chances a week to look anything up on the middle school windows 95 computers if I got stuck. kinda crazy.

Minor spoilers and I’m also paraphrasing here: the bene gesserit have pretty much orchestrated this whole “messiah” to come and save humanity or keep them on an enlightened path. They’ve been doing this for thousands of years and continue to do for several hundred years but IIRC Paul’s sons is the one to put humanity back on the right course.

Paul's son thinks that's the right path (he calls it "the Golden Path") but it's severely debatable. It brings back humanity to medieval level tech and as a result of his rule humanity develops computers ("thinking machines") again, which inevitably will lead to another Butlerian Jihad-like event in the future. The whole point of Dune is that humanity is doomed to keep making these mistakes no matter how much they try.

@@INRamos13 right and Leto II became a bad ruler on purpose so that humanity could never be under tyrannical rule again. He gave humanity their needs but under harsh restrictions like banning any kind of travel. Like you said, the golden path being the right path is debatable but Leto II being able to see the future was also somewhat a detriment to him. This is what makes the story so enjoyable though, it starts off as a typical hero story but gets into some pretty deep stuff and the story spans thousands of years.

This is hilarious. But seriously if you read these Deng epic fantasy books you're waiting years between books and dam Martin will never finish but these other authors still spend soo long to finish. For instance wheel of time author died before he finished but got finished up by sanderson who also takes years between books but he pumps out books like no other 😂😅🎉❤
