Anyone else find this a bit sad? Megaman is a talented MC, Producer, artist whos been in the game for a long time now, and all they ask him is buillshit like "How much did your chain cost? How big is your house? How many cars you got? .... Painful to watch

ivanduvok I don't think so, Which is why NFTR don't have very many subscribers to their channel. Considering the calibre artists they manage to get on here you'd expect their numbers to be a lot higher,
@ivanduvok
@ivanduvok 8 жыл бұрын
ffsear12 Their lack of subscribers is due to the marketing as opposed to content (which I think is very good). The average fan is a dumb ass going for buzz bait and sensationalism. This is why NFTR tried a thirst trap ploy with the Dominican ting Rosa Acosta, hoping to draw in some of her 1.1 million instagram dry mout fan base.

No way is he a millionaire. The so solid days didn't make that much money, The record companies made the millions.Not them, and plus there was too many members for them to become millionaires. He even called the radio station that he's on now to go on. Sorry but he's probably barely a thousandaire!!! The fuck outta here

ben1349 woe. What is your opinion on that? I have seen some recent interviews and they are even worse.
@betrousaltaweel
@betrousaltaweel 7 жыл бұрын
Fluffy York Ebro and Rosenberg voice opinions that don't resonate with the listeners which is why Hot97 ratings plummeted and why loads of staff jumped ship; K Fox, Angie Martinez etc left to other stations. Morning radio shows are supposed to fun and about music not about old dull men like Ebro and Rosenberg arguing, lecturing and boring the listeners. Hence Power 105 has regularly beaten Hot97 in ratings for years across numerous timeslots.

ben1349 Right thanks for that. Makes sense. I have no where been listening to them as long as you. But when I do I hear them imply.... It's my way or the highway. Their style of interviewing is overbearing. Thanks for explaining your thoughts on them.

great interview, loving the channel and all the insights. I love the length of the interviews. Long enough to get a true idea of what was going on in the industry. Camron et al have gone down a bit in my estimations. I also watched the SAS interview where they had similar things to say. But understand how some America acts treat UK fans. I have wasted money at some shows back in the day then stopped buying their music. A certain rapper from the US forgot his lines and kept saying ive got 5 albums.

Lot of history dropped. The Aiya Napa stuff was interesting - would love to hear a copy of the HLC vs So Solid clash now. Interesting to hear about the North/South stuff, the Buckhead/Wes/Spray story. The 'Junction' ting. One thing they should have touched on is the reasons why So Solid didn't 'take the risk' and do Grime. Seems they were trying to clean up their image and do the flossed out bling thing, but the fans wanted the real - as Boy In Da Corner proved. Aiya Napa was the beginning and end of So Solid and the rise of Grime, those that know, know this.
@TOITN
@TOITN 9 жыл бұрын
James Riskoe I've said the same before, but they were happy to run with the 'garage' name - and didn't really integrate with the 'grime' ting which was mainly an East London thing to start with. It was competition. 2001/02 was the 'crew' era and Mega felt he had his own 'lane'. He defo didn't anticipate Wiley and Dizzee's rise - listen to the Dizzee/Asher clash on Commander B's show. I don't know about any Eskimo dance clashes.
@mofomi8605
@mofomi8605 8 жыл бұрын
+TOITN Makes perfect sense tbf not wanting to run with the grime name, if the main thing the man was interested in was money then he knew what to stay away from as many artists have said grime doesn't pay
@nevernotkillingit5208
@nevernotkillingit5208 7 жыл бұрын
Mo Fomi Tell Wiley and Dizzee that grime don't pay... we speaking the exact same era. He didn't go grime or evolve the sound cah he was only ever looking to the US and what the crews like Diddy, rocnation etc was doing... and he beefed Dizz and Wiley so didn't wanna look wet by jumping on their thing. Napa was beginning of the end of the top for them man... Look now, Wiley and them man done the things, won the war.
@mofomi8605
@mofomi8605 7 жыл бұрын
Never Not Killing It Ye but my point was back in that day it all made sense, like now he knows to work with them but you might've been considered a fool for looking to WIley and Dizz when they weren't established yet. And either way my point still stands grime even today doesnt pay that well man, strictly in terms of the two genres and UK alone you're probably making more touring as a rapper in the UK rather than a grime artist

Mo Fomi Mega made money cah he was a business man first, ain't about nothing else at the end of the day... If he wanted SSC to stay at the top longer than they did... He shoulda made better moves, that's down to him.

So Solid Discography 2001: They Don't Know 2003: 2nd Verse 2013: Greatest Hits I was a big fan back in the day, not just SS, PAYG, Heartless...there were bare others. But c'mon man. 13 years have passed since '03 and Wiley, fair game, won the battle. Grime won coz it was more accessible. Man wanna sip Henessey in the club and suit up for a moment on an American vibe acting like life is all VIP...cool. But that day is done fam. So Solid have been So 'inactive' that they aren't even relevant in the game. Mega has stories to tell, talks a good business talk, but really....show us the music cuz. 'Since you went away' was cringe worthy. I wish it wasn't.....I'd hoped for something sick....but it was your typical 'we're So Solid and we are Soooo Solid on America's dick' Pathetic.
