Megane E Isn't Efficient? But Can It FAST Charge?

Күн бұрынJoin me on part 2 of my review of the Megane E electric, I wanted to see if Renault's claim the Megane E can use Rapid chargers at 130kw is true, so I took it to the fastest charger I could find which was the Porsche Ultra charger, scanned my octopus juice card and watched the charger rate on the Megane e electric. We also tried out the efficiency of the Megane e which wasn't that impressive either.

Even with a very light foot, I only get an average of 4 miles per KWh over the year from my Fiat 500e, so I'd be surprised if a larger, heavier and more powerful car like the Megane E could get anywhere near its claimed range. Interesting video, though.

Best ive seen from my iconic (which comes with the heat pump) in the 4500 miles/2 months of ownership is 3.2 miles per kwh,but generally sits around 2.8 average. That's with some spirited acceleration, and a few overtakes, but generally sitting at 60mph and a good mix of driving. its going back into Renault for a whirring sound coming from the heater fans and a knock from the rear end. The self driving mode can be very dim witted in comparison to the VW Passat that I had before it. Apart from that its a brilliant car.

@flaw3dgenius222 It's much better now that it's summer. Now covered 20k miles and learned how to be a bit more conservative with the batteries (this being my 1st EV.) I'm now seeing 3.6 ml/kwh average ,which I feel is quite decent considering I'm doing mostly motorway now. I generally see nearly 240 miles to a charge from 100% to low teens.

Getin an etech on motability concerned I'm not going to be able to get the home charger, cheapest public fast charger is 65pkwh, will this end up much more expensive then a petrol car, I currently drive Audi q2 1.0

Interesting to see the rapid drop off in charging current: I presume the batteries heated up and so the car throttled back the charging rate. Maybe you can only charge at 85 kW continuously.

It would be interesting to see what you could achieve with some constant economical driving in the summer. My Zoe is hitting its low point now, only averaging around 3.5 miles per kWh and that's in eco mode too. The Mégane's looks are starting to grow on me, I prefer the colour scheme without the goldie looking bling bits. But it's way out of my price range unfortunately.

State the obvious ! will try a re-gass and see if we get any heat. Old compressor fault shown though. Zoe heater is shit regardless .

More efficiënt than a MG4, less than Tesla m3. The autonomous drive is superb, best available > Tesla. The fast charge is not great but fast charge is only sporadic...

I own one of these. I have 3.1 mkwh. It takes 10 hours t0 charge to 80% from 30%. 100% shows a range of 188m but it is more like 150-160. This is MASSIVLY disappointing. It costs more to run than the 1.5t petrol Civic i replaced. On a smooth road it is quiet and very comfortable, but i live in Lincolnshire so it is crashy, lumpy and badly understeers. Stalks are an issue that should not be and whoever decided on the boot release needs to be sacked right away. The slapstick gold front panel should have been a free option as it is ugly as me. That said, it is smooth and so very comfortable and when pre heated very pleasant, not so when not. All about that range baby. I knew this car was not as good as m last. I chose one to contrast. What i did not recon on were the outright lies about its performance. I would not be saying that about an MG or a Kia.
