anniebi I laughed at that comment when I rewatched Raw spice. Mel probably predicted a different kind of weird back then though. Nevertheless very accurate 😂

Yup 😅 you know Geri, she's larger than life. She's still weird but her eccentricity lean toward the other end of the spectrum now. She tends to shy away from the middle ground. Lol.

Basically watching every spice girl thing on the internet (different websites) by searching different words/tags/years, downloading it and categorizing every little thing with a time stamp in a word file under different video ideas. Anything is possible if you devote a shit load of time to it haha

@@saraglickman5889 Yeah fame influenced Victoria and not in a good way. I believe she was way more "herself" when she was younger. Not only in looks and her weight, but she seems a whole lot more self conscious these days and because of that her real personality rarely shines through nowadays when she's in public. That's partially why I've made a video about her, because her real personality is SO much more fun than what she shows nowadays. And looking at the millions of views those videos got: I'm not the only one who thinks that.

I think 26:25 sums everything. Geri is very naive and a bit unaware and enchanted and not really thinking about her romantic feelings as homosexuality related. Mel B is much more street smart and connected to her feelings and can't help giggle and react. I think Geri denying the Pierce Morgan scandal was maybe honest on her account because that's how she see things since she never admitted her feelings for Mel B even to herself. Maybe someday around 2040 she'll write a biography and come to terms with how broken she was when Mel B got engaged.

what your saying makes a lot of sense, geri confuses me tbh one minute she is very carefree about sexaulity and the next she is making comments that are judgemental / have homophobic undertones. Geri contradicts herself with it.. I think that geri has come to terms with it privately I could be wrong of course but it seems that in 98 geri couldn't stand seeing Mel b fall in love with Jimmy her heart was breaking, i think she knows that's why atleast deep down she has too. I think geri was and still is so in love with Mel b....

Mel B is openly bisexual and pretty sure Geri is a bi woman too but not openly. Both are now married and engaged to men. But I think I like them better as friends because their friendship is very special that what matters to me.

I write this comment, teary eyed. Geri may have left the group due to exhaustion, not feeling appreciated and/or her ED. But again with tears I must say this... Homophobia broke these two. Instead of being able to explore what they felt for each other naturally, explore and question, the homophobic world stopped it dead in their tracks. I dont even think they realised it. As brash, open minded and liberal as they were, these two were at the highest peak of their careers in the 90's. Whatever they felt or didnt feel couldnt even be explored to its depth because the world said it was unatural. The music business wouldnt allow it. Five beautiful women and all of them had an eating disorder or drug problem. If they couldnt even eat normally without being scrutinized, imagine including same sex attraction? I strongly believe had the 90's veen kinda to same sex attraction Mel B wouldnt have felt inclined to date the dancer, Geri to fall apart and ultimately leave the group. Geri left feeling defeated, the group disbanded and Mel B ended up in awful relationships. I'm not saying had mel b been exclusive to Geri, the band wouldn't have disbanded and still ended up in horrible relationships. What im saying is that Mel B could have treated yhat relationship with more care, Geri could have healthily explored her sexuality healthily. Mel B could have atill ruined things lol but the relationship could have ended amicably. Geri could have come to the conclusion that she wasnt gay. And that she naturally just fell for Mel B. There could have been closure. This is something people in 2023 are awarded for the most part. Homophobia is still rampant but its no longer mainstream or legal. The nineties failed these two. Homophobia, failed them. Knowing this breaks my heart. I'm Christian, i believe in everything the bible teaches but we have distorted and eliminated almost everything Jesua taught us. I plan to shower everyone with love and acceptance. Another person's sin is not my cross to carry. My only purpose is to lead in love. I'm sorry to everyone who we have failed as a society. I pray we all learn to lead with love.

You have no idea how it went. I've followed this since the 90's and I know things you wouldn't. There was too many third parties that got involved with the break up of these two in the 90's. Even Geri admitted this in the 00's, I'm not going to say who but one was on Geri's side

I am carrying on the speculation, Mel B has openly slept with as well as dated men & women, even if she doesn't identify as bisexual that is bisexual behaviour. She hasn't said she is striaght, she just says she doesn't choose a lable. Plus, what celebs say publicly vs. what they admit to those close to them is often different. 1:14:06 Geri can’t know about Mel Caloma, because she wasn’t in the band then either. She was in Spain dancing on tables. She wasn’t in the „original“ lineup. At least that’s what they wrote in their books, so I don’t know why they pretend she was in the original band. When Geri joined Mel C was already in the band

i think they mean that the producers chose them right away for their parts, even tho Geri and Emma did their test a few weeks or months later than the others, when they chose Ginger and Scary it was right away Geri and Mel B - no other contestants considered. While the others may have been more difficult and producers ended up switching and testing more between contestants till the final pick being Mel C, Vic and Emma. _Like, they're not talking about the order that they did their tests but the contracts finally being signed with each one._ *innit?!* 🤔🤔 bc i remember Mel B and Geri saying that they even started to drive around looking for blondies to be Baby, meaning that Mel B and Geri certainly were already officially Spices then, the other girls listened to them like they were not in the picture at the time. That also explains why Mel B and Geri were considered the main "leaders" when it came to management and stuff.

@@jollyfighter7319 Sorry, i kinda expressed myself wrong talking about "order of contract", the thing with the tests is kinda confusing to fully understand. lol What i mean is that Geri and Mel B actually were in the original line up bc they passed the test right away for their characters, no other girls considered before them in the decision, just them. Gotta remember were not talking about the full group as a final formation line up, but the individual characters. Geri and Mel B were the original pickings for theirs, while the other girls did more tests for theirs and the producers did more switchings till they get the part - to the point there was those another girls almost signing. i guess that's what they mean when using this term.

Mel B should never have revealed that she had a one night stand with Geri. Those sorts of revelations can break down marriages by finding out your partner is secretly bisexual. Geri’s husband probably didn’t even know about it.

@@chrysb9550 there’s actually more to it. I’ve read Mel Bs, Mel C‘s and Geri’s books and what aligns is they were very vicious with each other in this stage of the band. All of them unhappy and unhealthy. The pressure of fame, the media and the sleazy manager only added fuel to the fire. There’s also always been rumors about the nature of Mel B’s and Geri’s relationship. The other girls always hinted at them being a couple at one point in the band‘s career and they fell out in 1998. only two months before Geri left the band. „The two of us were the perfect company. We didn’t need anybody else“ - Geri Mel b officially admitted that she was so mean to every girl in the band, but especially to Mel C and Geri. She’s since apologized to both of them. I don’t think it was Mel b‘s goal to get Geri to leave, evidently because her describing a „deep deep sadness“ when Geri left. Geri has already declared she would leave the band after the tour, having previously threatened to leave often.

I’m so sorry for Geri if they were really something, because Geri really seemed heartbroken when MelB got a boyfriend in 1998 then she left the band. If I was Mel I would’ve fought for Geri lmao I know it was the 90’s but at least secretly at that time. Anyway past is past and it’s not the same now, and their friendship is very special now that’s what matters now.

She didn't actually, a third party got involved. If you followed them since the 90's, you'd know this. I'm not saying who it was but Geri even said who it was years later. Mel was broken when Geri left, she literally cried live on stage during viva forever

I can see why the reunion was a failure, Mel B and Geri were the ones doing all the talking, the others did not get a chance and the competition between those two ruling the roost with Melanie B interrupting Geri every time she was trying to speak and annoying the hell out of her when she was the centre of attention, no wonder she walked out.

You know nothing. Mel B was gentle, but she was defensive because people always attacked her. Geri said in the later years that Mel was gentle as anything with her and alot of the stuff she said was cause of a facade. Mel B has been through alot in her life, she's suffered ever since she was a small child

So you've never heard of lavender marriages or beards. This was big thing in the 20th century cause it was very dangerous to be outed as bi or gay. Mel B is known bisexual and Geri admitted to being Bisexual herself years ago on her twitter
