Wow! Ninety seven. That’s pretty good! I hope he lives ‘til at least 100. Long live Mel Brooks‼️ You can tell he’s from the Brooklyn, N.Y. area. It’s in the voice and the mannerisms. I’m from N.Y. too, Lucille Ball birth area. He’s really funny! I love how he acted out what he was telling here 😂🤣🥰‼️

You have to love his energy and enthusiasm. Brooks never mails it in. And Johnny knew when to zip it and let the guest shine.

Like Mel said, Johnny would listen to his guests and pay attention not just hear them speaking.

As a kid, my great grandmother wouldn't allow Johnny on her TV set (she thought he was vulgar). But she went to bed early. So whenever I would visit, I would ask to sleep on the Davenport (you gotta be old to know what that is). I had to keep the volume down, but unbeknownst to my wonderful Irish great gran, I would allow Johnny in the house. I miss them both.

Johnny Carson was very generous with all his guests. He had no problem showing respect, particularly if he felt an artist needed an extra laugh to motivate that person.

2024 and does anyone miss the Johnny Carson show? I remember staying up to watch who was going to be on and if there were good guests I paid the price the next morning getting up for school. So tired .....but genuinely entertained and going to sleep with a smile on my face. Life felt better. Rarely see that anymore with most of the talk shows these days. As Mel said Johnny genuinely listened to his guests and gave them space so they could be entertaining and he was a master at drawing things out from them. It was like you were an invited dinner guest at a private celebrity party and got to hear all these inside stories. So good to see these clips to remind me how good the show was at its finest moments. Reminds me how mediocre television is these days for the most part. Woke Corporate propaganda trying to pass as entertainment.

As a kid in 60s ,I especially loved Get Smart . The 'cone of silence ' , and one episode with a Japanese Chaos agent with hooks for hands called the 'CLAW ' . Max says, " ,So ... I finally meet the infamous Claw ... Yes , I am the Craw ... Yes, Mr. Craw ... NOT Craw , CRAAAW !! ... That's what I said , Mr . Craw ... NO , NOOOO !!! NOT Craw ! CRAAAAAAAW !!! " Went on and on . 🤣🤣🤣🤣
