Put Melanie in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame posthumously. It's an unbelievable shame that she wasn't inducted in her lifetime. Such a generational icon and talent! RIP beautiful soul. Cheers\=/\=/

Absolutely. She was an integral part of the '60s generation, made a big splash---SOLO--at Woodstock for chrissake. Can't believe she's not in there. She'll always live in our hearts.

Listening to this song reminds me of a day when we used to sit and listen to a singer because we liked her voices and songs, and didn't even think about whether they were "hits" or not. We just enjoyed good music.

One of the very best things about being 68 years old, means I was right there for the emergence of Melanie - and, still getting to enjoy every minute through today. Peace for ALL Species.

I was accidentally introduced to Melanie at 14 while looking through the record collection of a family I babysat. I was thunderstruck! She will forever be the voice I hear when I think of my teenage years. I don't think I would be the person I am now if not for Melanie.

Most underrated singer/songwriter/performer of all time. If I were 15-20 years older, I could have easily fallen in love with this lady! Ah, heck, I love her as it is. This song so reminds me of the night my college sweetheart and I said goodbye for the last time. So much truth in this song ... it takes me back 34 years.Ouch. Don’t tell my wife (though I think she knows how smitten and mesmerized I am by Melanie), but I fall in love with her whenever I hear her, and even more seeing her perform like this. 😍

One of my favorite songs by Melanie! I remember watching this when I was a teen. Today, a performer would have to drastically cut the length of their song for a slew of commercials. I always loved the studio version with background vocals much like the Edwin Hawkin Singers. Spine tingling!

Do You Believe Song by Melanie Lyrics/ Do you believe it's morning I'm alive but that's the last thing on my mind If our nighttime words mean good-bye Let our morning words be kind Didn't your eyes say you'd never change your mind Didn't my eyes say I do believe your eyes I do believe them, I do believe your eyes … I lose vision once in awhile We all got grounded at the start But I still believe in magic It comes from seeing with the heart I do believe it, I do believe my eyes I do believe it, the magic's in our eyes … I went to bed at sunrise Now I'll sleep the whole day through My eyes will open to the darkness And in the darkness will be you And in the darkness my only light is you And in the darkness the light is in your eyes … I do believe, I do believe your eyes I do, the light is in your eyes Repeat … Do you, do you believe my eyes I do believe Do you, do you believe my eyes I do … I do believe your eyes I do believe, I do believe your eyes Repeat Songwriter - Melanie Safka Do You Believe lyrics

Melanie. I recognize the D Cord. But the cord that sounds like an E Minor doesn't look like a standard E Minor finger position. Could you tell us what the finger position is? Thank you for being on KZfaq.
@MelaniesafkaTheRealMelanie5 жыл бұрын
For this song the 6th string (low E) has been tuned down a step to D, which alters the shape and sound of the chords (D, Em, G, D).
