South melbourne is the best place in Melbourne hands down My dad lived in raglan flats for 45 years, then we lived in park towers and Dorcas St flats. I wouldn't have changed it for the world. The love loyalty and respect we all had growing up within the neighbourhood is insane as kids we seen things kids shouldnt see but it was always the older boys like Andre (smokk) in this vid that kept us safe growing up and still does today... For anyone interested in one of the lesser known historic crime syndicates that used to run these areas I would say start with the 'Painters and Dockers,' (Not the band) Basically gangsters that came out of the ship yard trade unions and ran tax + crime in parts of the city from the 50's - 80's. Naturally the working class unionist from all different fraternities and industries were notorious for huge violent brawls in pubs all across South, North and Port Melbourne to Collingwood, Fitzroy well before that.. So yeah South and Port Melbourne are affluent now, but its working class roots go way back to the shipping yards.

South Melbourne is probably one of the nicest suburbs; it’s actually one of my favorites to walk around. However, there are many great suburbs in Melbourne, most of them, in fact. Melbourne is an amazing city overall. I lived in St Kilda for over ten years, near Grey Street, which was considered one of the most 'dangerous' areas, yet I had ZERO problems there. He actually filmed 200m from my house at 23:00. The most 'dangerous' thing I experienced there was a guy asking if I wanted some weed. I'm pretty sure he just wanted to give it to me for free lol.

I used to do the plumbing maintenance in South/Port Melbourne, St Kilda, Prahan. South/Port Melbourne were easily the best housing area to do maintenance in. St Kilda and Prahan were a bit more sketchy, but still ok. A lot of good people in housing there. Never had any safety issues. Respect the tenants, and they respect you back.

Really enjoyed this video and I do remember back in those days because if u were in the city out night clubbing u definitely steered clear of those areas! Great people in ur video this time and how I would love to see the rest of them done, but I do understand it's out of ur control. Little Jase going to to check out ur videos too! Thanks guys xo ❤

People in real ghettos around the world would love to live in these paradises

For real. South Melbourne is one of the nicest suburbs in Melbourne, calling it the 'hood' is retarded.

It's the people who turn it into a ghetto.

Clearly far from paradise though isn’t it?

@@step9624 Most of South Melbourne is very affluent. Like many places in Melbourne there are some public housing blocks integrated among the regular housing. It is by design.

Mad vid. Can’t believe I missed rubbing into ya in Prahran. All about the inner city vids. Of course they show more grit and the dudes have better yarns but that’s the difference of inner city and just full outer suburbs of housos. All needs to be shown. This is the true Australia, love that you acknowledge that you keeping records of it cos you are.
