Great video. Yesterday I purchased two 50 foot 3/4" flat soaker hoses from Harbor Freight ($10 each). They look identical to the hose you reviewed and performed just as well. The brand name is One Step Gardens. What I want to see is how to repair and or splice these types of hoses. My plan is to create custom lengths and perhaps make a circle or loop soaker for a few trees. The hose comes with three Miser discs to decrease water flow up to 75%.

I bought one and it has popped a leak in about the middle. It doesn't do any better than the rubber ones.

I bought 2 of these 3 years ago and this year they started to water unevenly. So, I put them away and now I'm back to watering manually. Very frustrating.

I just got 2 of these. I cannot figure out where to put one of the little discs on to reduce the amount of water at one time. Can you help? I also added this between the spigot and the hose: Drip Irrigation Faucet Adapter Kit: Connect 1/2" Tubing to Faucet or Hose, Backflow Preventer, Filter, Pressure Regulator 25 psi

I think Gilmore is the same hose. I called Gilmore and they said not more than 15lbs pressure. So I bought a reducer from drip depot. Also an Amazon same company.

Thanks for the video. Personally I hate that type of hose. I've used both in my 3000 ft² vegetable garden and I prefer the other hoses. Just don't bury them and it will last a very long time. That flat soaker hose does not last. The rubber inside the rubber hose inside breaks as well as the threaded stitching and they leak a lot.

I have this hose and it does work. My only questions are (1) it tends to kink when trying to move around bushes, but it does not appear to prevent the remaining length to seep water. Should I be concerned with kinking? (2) how deep should I burry the hose? Thanks

I'm having the same issues... using in a flower bed so not in long straight rows like a food garden. I'm not sure if I'm even going to be able to use it now.

@@emilystubbs5650 Hi Emily. I posted my comment a year ago and you're the only one to have replied! It's nice to know I'm not the only one. I decided to chuck it and just use the ol' standby that works every time it's tried. A small sprinkler on trickle! 😂

Probably right. Need pressure (which equals more flow) to fill the entire hose before it drains out.

I think you should try it. The biggest problem with soaker hoses is overpressure. They work better with low pressure.

I'm trying to find out too but all I can get are vague answers, such as "don't see why not..| - "appears to be safe.." manufacturer responded "yes safe for gardens", but then when the mystery of what it's made of? red flag for me

I unscrewed the cap off while the water was on cause I didn't know why the cap was on (wondering if it even belonged there) & got sprayed right in the face. It was funny! 😅 My neighbor across from me was watching, I'm sure she thought it was funny too! 🤭

Do you or anyone reading this know if there is way to reduce the water pressure right before the connection of the soaker hose as I'm planning to connect it to a unused zone of my inground sprinkler system. I'm planning on connecting 150' of soaker hose.

Yes, mines comes with miser disc to decrease water flow up-to75%.

Have you tried burying it? I have a couple of Gilmour hoses 25 ft hoses that look identical to what you have. I have not yet tried to bury it. Just curious. Thank you.
