Melnyk has some weird ideas on how to run a team. It would have made more sense to have The Hockey Guy interview him.

As an Ottawa fan, I (kind of) get this interview. Boro is an Ottawa-born guy, he grew up in Carp 10 minutes from the arena. He’s a likeable character on and off the ice and just because he’s an Ottawa boy, he’ll most likely stay here his whole career. The fact that Melnyk did the interview instead of Dorion is probably because of the lack of confidence the fan base has had in him throughout the years and especially this year. To me Eugene just came off as doing a fake apology to the fans and trying to repair his reputation, but ended up making it worse just cause we can all tell he’s acting like he knows what he’s talking about.

a lot of this was odd because of the turmoil with the team. There would be so much distraction and unknown factors with the team this season, so Melnyk came out and got rid of the mystery. It's a full rebuild coming. It was Boroweicki because it is a message that the core will be traded. It was Melnyk because he wanted to remove the distraction and drama with the status of the team, and he is the only one with full authority to start a rebuild, which Dorion clearly was avoiding with his moves.

I watched the Sens Rookie tournament games and none of those guys look ready.

I have watched star players after star players ask to leave Ottawa even when they where at their best. At this point what Melnik is saying that is the players that he has do not want to play for him then they can leave. He will replace them with Kids that are on rookie deals. He is running the Send like you would be running a McDonald's where he can replace everybody with kids and the show will go on. It will but the show with Pro Sports is the Stars and the trek towards a championship. If you take away both then why would anybody pay money to see that. There has been enough evidence that indicates Melnyk is having financial troubles , so his solution is to gut the the team and pay as many ELC's as possible. Everything smells like The Hockey Guy has said....Karlsson, Duchene and Stone are all going to get traded before the deadline for young prospects and many draft picks. Most likely Bobby Ryan & Gaborik's contracts are going to be unloaded someway as well. Craig Anderson will probably be traded as well. It's going to be a real circus. man i get the hate, people like to hop on bandwagons instead of doing research. I see that most people don't use all the information at their fingertips so ill do it for them. From the 2005-06 to the 2015-16 season they averaged no less than 18000 (many seasons upwards of 19000) tickets sold for home games. Not all sellouts but they have more seats than most other nhl areanas. The 8 seasons prior, coming off of some of the 4 worst seasons in nhl history they were averaging 15-17000 per season, not overly bad, for a young franchise that struggled early on with an arena in a field essentially. Yes they didn't sell out what? one or two playoff games, thats a bad look no doubt, butttt out of the 4 western conference finals teams from those playoffs they were averaging the most tickets sold due to arena size. would the other teams have sold those tickets, probably. but is it really a big deal?? most of you would probably say yes, because you're petty and anything to bash on a team thats already down, you guys love. I just want to make this clear for you guys, this is not a fan problem, for two decades they proved they could sell tickets. this is a melnyk problem. Who you all be supporting your gm if he threw talent away every time it was payday? would you support him for threatening to move the team you cheer for? resigning a gm who tore your team apart because one bad year, mostly due to the locker room problems coming to light? is ottawa a joke right now, yes? why? because melnyk is a terrible owner who doesn't know how to run a hockey team, demanding the trades of the best players we have year in and year out. thats why hes not selling tickets, because people are sending a message.
