I've bought jerseys, caps, photos, cards and have several pieces autographed memorabilia (three signed jerseys of the old farts driven out of town Alfie, Spezza and Karlsson). I've watched every game I could as well even when we've had bad to awful seasons. I follow this team daily... Guess I'm not a real fan. MelnykOut

Duchene, Dzingle are overrated. Remember the last year of Duchene in Colorado? Karlsson is aging and injuries are an issue so what good will he be in the next couple years? The only issue I have is moving Stone. I think he was worth keeping. However if Brannstrom turns into the next Erik Karlsson then Sens have done very well.

I tend to agree. The man isn't mad angry, he's just crazy. He just decided to throw away a flawed team, but with potential into the tire fire. And he's probably in a year or two going to want a cup contender and be mad when his puppet GM can't just conjure one up for him out of nowhere.

Regarding the 60 story building.....the group that he was partnered with, is one of the biggest developers in Ottawa and is a large developer in Toronto. He was complaining because his partner had other deals in the pipe including the future tallest building in the city which would be a couple LRT stations down. As a real estate broker in the city I think there is enough demand and excitement for both projects and more. The problem is Melynk wants to be the only project... fan of the show, I am praying for my team but this guy doesn’t make it easy. Ask me anytime about the lebretton progress

Shannon @the hockey guy just gotta say regarding the Leafs rebuild and buffalo but first great video I agree with u on mostly everything and I hate what he said about toronto and I don’t even like the leafs but they may be further along then buffalo in the rebuild but they have been rebuilding for a decade and a half, until 2017 the leafs had one playoff series since 2004 and that was in 2013 the collapse against Boston, still haven’t won a series since 04 but got shanahan Babcock and a starting goalie to help them, I don’t mind at all having a core of Eichel dahlin Reinhart ukko pekka luukonen going forward to compete with Toronto, just saying because people act like the leafs just got better in two years due to that one run In 13 where they lost again in the first round, sabres have also been to the finals and won presidents trophy in last twenty years while the leafs have done neither, haven’t won a conference title since 1967....while in the last twenty wars buffalo have been to four conference finals while the leafs have been to two losing to buffalo in one and both were twenty years ago (99 02) so point being the leafs look good now but have yet to win when it matters and have taken a long time to be good, buffalos has success in the time the leafs have been rebuilding and while the sabres look bad in the ice they already have a top ten core to build around going forward due to a franchise c and d

I was at a Ottawa Senators home game a few weeks ago at which happened to be Erik Brannstrom's NHL debut aka the key return from trading "old man" Mark Stone to Vegas. It came to me quite obvious that all the money spent was going to everything but the players and based on rumors even the popcorn.

I think I every professional sports league has at least 1 owner like this guy.

Toronto fan here and the cap crunch is real, people just don't want to admit it. We're not completely fucked like some people say but the team will have to lose some players off the current roster and change, hopefully for the better in the long run. We've got some good young defensemen brewing and we develop well in general *cough cough except for goalies* future is bright even thought it's looking like this year ain't our year.

3 years down the road the senators are first in the league with 130 points, the senators somehow get jack hughes, the Washington capitals cease to exist and Melynk is rewarded by becoming the commissioner of the league.

He will get attendance support from the fans, that's common sense, the Senators were near the top of the league in attendance for almost a decade. Last season 5,000 fans gave up their season tickets because of management.. That's about 30% of their attendance..

The one thing the Leafs did that changed that franchise around was selling the team. Maybe Melnik should sell the team and the Sens will magically make more sense.

Thomas Chabot, Erik Brannstrom, Jacon Bernard-Docker, Brady Tkachuk, Colin White, Drake Batherson, Logan Brown, Josh Norris, Alex Formenton, Filip Chlapik, Vitaly Abramov, Filip Gustavsson, Daccord, Hogberg... I mean these are all high-end prospects that the Senators have in every position.. They also have 17 picks in the first 3 rounds over the next 3 years.. They definitely have the foundation for an elite team if they can piece it together properly.. If you don't know who any of these guys are then don't @ me, please, because They're all B to Grade A prospects and i'm sure i'm missing some more..

I think the biggest critic of any given team or organization is its fans/members.

The leafs actually have some really good defense prospects. People thinking that this is the only year they can win in is kinda funny. They have most their stars locked up and a legit number one goalie with many up in coming prospects which will be cheap to bring up and play. Ottawa is no where near that at the moment so talking bad about the leafs isn't the right thing to do

My Friend Rob and myself are diehard Hockey fans from the UK. He is a Sens fan. Unlike me he has been fortunate enough to have been able to go to Canada and watch the Sens play. Are we lesser fans than locals in Ottawa or Winnipeg? Melnyk is doing his best to destroy this team and the NHL is allowing him to do it. All I can see is another Thrashers mess where the team is forced to move because of this moron of an owner.

All they have outside of the Canadian Tire Centre is literally a fucking gas station and parking spots all round. Fucking go to TD Place and it is paradise compared to the CTC...

Putting on my GM hat, even if Toronto swaps Kapanen for a comparable cost-controlled defenseman, that defense still sucks. And you gotta replace Kapanen. Bad luck for the Leafs. When they finally get it together, it's a Chicago situation, and they start paying their young guys $10m salaries and slowly slide down the standings. The inputs no longer produce the outputs. Because, when that new contract hit, you now have a guy with the same production with now $9m less in players ($10m - ELC). Do that a few times, and you're left with nothing...
