Not minor league, just different league. The AFL (currently represented by the AFC after merging with the NFL) was a different league, not a minor league. The USFL (had super bowl champions like Steve Young) was a different league, not a minor league. The CFL (had players like Warren Moon) is a different league, not a minor league. The old WFL (had players like Ken Stabler, Larry Csonka) was a different league, not a minor league. These were all PROFESSIONAL Leagues. Many BETTER players were in your so-called "minor leagues". When will people stop making that stupid assumption? There were/are , however, dozens and dozens of actual minor leagues AND semi-pro and developmental leagues. None of the pro leagues mentioned earlier fall into any of these 3 categories.

I just wish folks had thought this way back in 2001, when the original XFL was competing. It was probably too much of a wrestling and cheerleading angle, along with players having nicknames on the back of their jerseys, that pissed off football fans back then. There's no "He Hate Me's' and "Deathblow's'' in this league. If Trent Richardson was in the XFL, the name on the back of his jersey might have been "Can't Tackle This".

OMG I want this so much! I was suggesting this in another place. It would make the league so much better IMHO, teams couldn't rest on their laurels and tank for talent, teams HAVE to win because the worst NFL team is gonna be demoted to winter ball. Meanwhile AAF teams would play SUPER HUNGRY for a chance to make it all the way to the big show and the NFL money! AAF teams would scour the nation for potential NFL talent and try all sorts of unconventional ideas to augment what their players can do to compete with NFL caliber teams, which is exactly the way it should be. And if an NFL squad like Buffalo or NYJ goes down, it's because they earned it and a hungry young team took over their spot. It would be magnificent!. This idea is a football fan's dream, because it's actually an idea that would RAISE the quality of football for both the NFL and the AAF. There's too much money involved for me to ever think it would actually happen, but it's still a great idea!

Alabama as a whole does not support their teams of any league or sport unless its bama and auburn. This was a huge win for this team because if they keep winning it will only help gain local support (our local support is garbage) look at the orlando and san antonio games. Big crowds. This birmingham crowd was lackluster. But a dominant shutout win is exactly what this team needed day 1 for future support.

@@irvinglambert9316 If you get teams signing development contracts with AAF squads, then the biggest issue of overexpansion (diluted talent) goes away. If NFL teams used the chance to get their backups some work and develop the rookies they can't give full time to during the season, that's a three way win. AAF gets better talent, the NFL gets more experienced backups and the players get a chance to do their thing. There's no doubt in my mind that there's a lot of NFL backup QBs that are worthy to play in the AAF, and guys like Jacoby Brissett and Brian Hoyer and Ryan Fitzpatrick are a good cut or two above the Christian Hackenburgs of the world at the very least.

@America I've watched him a ton in college, my former teammate Johnny Thomas was on Penn state for the last 5 years, so I've been rooting for them, and watched nearly all their games over that time span. He was below average often, he had The Qb look and measurables but he made mistakes often. There was no reason for him to get drafted as high as he did. Was so awful, the jets literally decided to play qbs that they had already seen and knew they were getting rid of, instead of Hack because they didn't want that embarrassment. So I've already seen what he's shown since he entered pro football, a disaster
