Adam Peaty takes to the pool against an incredible field including the dutch rival duo of Caspar Corbeau and Arno Kamminga with the additon of Lucas Matzerath and Melvin Imoudu of the german national team also in the mix. This was set to be a corker to see of the end of night 1!

It's sad that he has passed his prime. Adam Peaty, hopefully he can still get on the podium in Paris if not winning the gold medal. He has been so dominating in the past and it's unfortunate he won't be leaving the scene with a bang.

I think it's difficult... AP has already past his peak period. Getting on podium is the best ending we can hope for. Whatever, he has proved himself countless times, the greatest breakstroke swimmer of all time.

he does not have the opportunity to take any rest for the passing competitions. He said in an interview that the training program is already accelerated and he has to sacrifice a lot. so I think that in Paris he will swim 57.6
