Latvia wiped out a five-point deficit for a 21-18 victory over ROC to be crowned the inaugural Olympic champions in the men’s 3x3 basketball at Tokyo 2020 while Serbia beat Belgium earlier in the evening for third on the podium.
The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Summer Games took place in Japan, from July 23, 2021 to August 8, 2021.

If we already have traditional 5x5 basketball, why include 3x3? To top it off, are we going to include 2x2 and 4x4? More : if we already have court handball, why include sand handball? It lacked to include grass handball. We have to dislike and send criticisms to the IOC.

This isn't the first time when Latvia won the first Olympic medals in some sports - in 2008 the very first Olympic champion in BMX was Māris Štrombergs, Latvia, he became the second time Olympic champion again in 2012.

@@kildarealeksen4140 if we have 100m in track & field, why do we need 200m? and if we have 3.000m, why do we have 3.000 country too?? 3 vs 3 on one basket is another kind of game compared to 5 vs 5 on full court .....and 3 vs 3 is even more played than 5 vs 5: it's wordl wide since more than 2 generations. IOC was very clever in including it 👍

This is rec league at the highest level. These guys are tough as nails. The NBA cannot afford to allow their assets to play 3x3. They don’t have the durability. That court is pissing me off though. These guys need a hard wood floor. Too many cuts to be playing on that legos floor.

It's way more physically intense than 5x5 basketball, and much more contact is allowed. So long balls are much harder to make than in conventional basketball.

Нет, ребята, не все смогут повторить успех на олимпиаде 2024...не все приедут...что-то случилось. Все как всегда, даже не удивительно: Приехать на олимпиаду с одной парой кроссовок, а потом их пластырем обматывать? Люди на обычную тренировку берут 2 пары на всякий случай. Выйти на награждение в этой же перемотанной пластырем паре, когда остальные команды в одинаковых чистых кроссовках для награждения. Выйти в масках за 10р. из Ашана, а женская сборная из аптеки по 3р., когда все другие команды в именных масках с дизайнами и названием страны. ...из колхоза можно уехать, но вот колхоз из себя вывезти...

Ну, что ж два финала , две медали. Не думала, что в России так развит какой либо вид баскетбола, учитывая что основная сборная пролетела мимо Олимпиады.

@@vse_vozmojno_nnn я помню как мы обыгрывали Югославию и США. В финале Олимпиад. И это была сборная СССР. Когда это видел бронзовые медали это как насмешка над болельщиками

this is how they are winning gold.. inventing their own games and playing among each other.. while there are traditional, entertainint and innovative sports in africa, asia.. that get no recognition in olympics cuz USA, Russia, or EU dont play it..

I understand your point, its strange to see a sport that is so hard in a simpleflied form, i liked it but i think if had more young and faster players on the court maybe would be more interesting tô watch

@@kildarealeksen4140 Only 3X3 has a governing body, is played on 5 continents. If You can get 2x2 to be at least as popular ar 3x3 or baseball/softball, You could get it into OG program. Like, 50k walking is a farce rules-wise and in olympics due to sheer power inertia of traditions.
