Tailoring at home is something anyone can do, but there are some terms that you need to understand, and they're all really easy.
The first one is called the seam edge. And it's just that, the edge of your fabric. The reason why it's important is because when you cut the edge after sewing then you need to finish it or it's going to unravel in your washing machine.
The next one is the stitch seam, which is where your stitch is. It can come in different sizes and lengths, depending on what you're sewing.
The last one is the seam allowance, which is just the distance between the edge and the stitch. It's important to know because if it's too small then you can't use a zigzag stitch or pinking shears. If it's too long then it's going to look stupid and be uncomfortable,
