Thanks for being brave and honest on camera. These shouldn’t be hard things to talk about, but yet they are. Natural processes in life shouldn’t be so hard to discuss. Again, thanks for stepping out of the comfort zone!

You have just summed up my life for the past 2 years. I’m 46 & menopause hit me like a ton of bricks & completely caught me off guard. My first noticeable system was painful sex so bad I couldn’t even do it anymore. The worst part is when I went to my obgyn for help she made me feel like I’m was imagining the pain & told me I had a bacterial infection. 😡 after months of telling her something was wrong she filling tested my hormones & was like “oh your in menopause” but still offered me no guidance or options. I went to another doctor I had years ago I did 3 sessions of the thermiva treatment. It was like night & day after the first session. My sex life was back & getting better after each session. I would highly recommend thermiva to all.

I’m almost 45. Please do more videos like this. I think nothing attracts more than honest and genuine conversations about what women go through at this age.

After a year on Keto, my hot flashes went away--and they where BAD for years. I believe there's a connection between high insulin levels and hot flashes. Do at least low carb--but Keto saved/changed my life in so many ways. My weight is normal, no more cravings or sugar slumps, no more getting up 2 or 3 times a night to pee, no more hot flashes.. I could go on and on.

Someone else has probably said this, but if they haven’t, magnesium is fantastic for night sweats. Helps you sleep, helps you poop, your body needs it anyway

Exercise helps! I’m using g a Peloton type indoor bike with I Fit trainers. It’s gentle yet works up a sweat. Yoga as well as a jog/walk routine where I jog 2 minutes walk 1 minute increasing 1 set a day has really helped my arthritis symptoms!! I also went whole food plant based. You have to be so tough to get through this phase of life! I am 56 and just now getting a grip!!

Every time I have something sweet I know what's next - sugar is the biggest trigger for my hot flashes. Homeopathy, D3, B12 and herbal supplements help with some symptoms. Insomnia is my b*tch - nothing helps. I fall asleep, but after 2-3 hours wake up and that it until its time to get up. It is exhausting.

What’s working for me is to mentally accept the ageing process, and not to expect to look or feel the same as l did 2 decades ago.

I think you did a wonderful service talking about this topic, especially the very private aspects that you didn't want to talk about it. It was brave and I commend you. I'm much older than you and many years post menopausal but I was quite taken aback when I went through what you described. Totally unprepared for it. I wish someone back then had been as open and forthright as you have been been. You did the right thing, so thank you.

Thank you! I'm a 50 year old women who is single in menopause...talk about a horrible situation. It's hard enough being single again and now complicate things with menopause. It's absolutely scary as hell. It's one thing to go through these changes with your loving partner and a totally different one navigating it alone or with a new relationship. I'm trying to stay positive and live my best life.

I had about 10 years of pain throughout peri menopause and menopause.Stiff, aching and fatigue with the pain. I tried EVERYTHING! Diet, various HRT options, yoga, walking, natural therapies. Just this year the pain finally disappeared! Soooo good. Sadly, through the years of pain (and a lot of the other menopausal symptoms you mentioned) I realised how dismissive, ignorant and unsupportive the medical system is of womens health issues. Thank you for posting this important video and for women struggling through this phase of life, you’re not crazy, the symptoms are real and sometimes debilitating, but you will get through it because you are a woman and we are awesome warrior legends!❤️❤️❤️

Hey Erin. You are such a kind person! Perimenopause started for me at 45. At first I didn't even realize what was going on. I had night sweats that woke me up and kept me awake for hours. The problem was that I couldn't get back to sleep, not the hot flushes. I had mood swings for a couple of years. I gained 10-12 lbs and like you, I am 5' 2" so this was a big deal for me. I was always slim and even if I gained a few lbs, I was always able to shed them in a few weeks. Well, not this time. I didn't loose anything for a couple of years, no matter what I did. I was also fighting with cravings (I still have them - sweet cravings). My last period was almost 2 years ago, at 47. I found that it has become easier once I was postmenopausal. I don't know but I think my hormones are a little more balanced. I don't take any HRT but I started exercising (about 2 years ago) and I am doing body weight bearing exercises, a little cardio and strength. I have read that too much cardio is not good for us, as it puts stress on the body and we end up gaining weight. We need to alternate cardio with yoga, Pilates. I still want to get into HIIT. I cannot be strict Keto (my hot flushes are getting really bad) but low carb helped a lot. I also started IF (up to 22 hours fasting) and my weight went down. I lost all the extra lbs and a couple more. I am wearing a size I used to wear in university. I recommend dr. Mindy Peltz here on youtube, she is awesome and puts out a lot of information regarding IF, keto for women (not only in menopause but also during fertile years) and she will launch a book about menopause in late February. She is also talking about doing keto and having hormone building days. I agree with her, I think women need to have complex carbs once in a while. I noticed it helped with my hot flushes. In my opinion, any diet you choose, just make sure it's whole foods and not processed food. Whenever possible, buy from the local farmers, or organic.
