I definitely recommend watching the entire show. There's another main character who may be interesting to cover in the show. The drug theory doesn't even cover half of it. I also recommend Umbrella Academy, Queen's Gambit, Killing Eve, Hannibal (the NBC show), The Haunting of Hill House, and The Haunting of Bly Manor. Some deal with child abuse/neglect, addictions, ASPD, grief, or guilt. If you have Amazon Prime, the show Undone.

The entire series is kinda based on this sci-fi Mental health conundrum ..you should definitely watch it

You have to get deeper in! They address the drug idea and its not that. I think~ because they hint at her mother having some type of psychosis when she was growing up it’s just some sort of depersonalization/fuguey thing from the childhood trauma and her trigger was reaching a birthday older than her mom managed to.

You should definitely watch the whole show, there's a lot of mother issues and other mental health stuff. Also, it's a time loop show, so we are presented with the idea that she really is reliving the same day, and things start to disappear, it's a really interesting story.

@@DoctorElliottCarthy after watching this show, my thoughts are: the main character goes through something that has therapeutic influence on her. It would be very interesting to hear from you something about her interrelationship issues, how they affect her personality, etc. BUT the most arguing question from me is: Let's assume that this whole series was a psychotherapy (a very crazy one, and ofc. impossible). Can this change of heart happen so quickly? Can someone fix their maladaptive personality traits with a one intensive experience?

So even though what she's going through in the show is totally supernatural and had absolutely nothing to do with what you were talking about, i still enjoyed learning about everything you had to say! Lol However, the rest of the show actually does dive into some really good commentary on emotional health. Really great show

I would love to see you react to the second season! It talks more about her mother's mental health issues (she is schizophrenic, i hate the "schizophrenics are bad parents" trope but that's besides the point) and the impact it had on Nadia.

I didn't think anyone except the character thought it was happening because of the drugs, lol I thought it was pretty obvious what they were going for from the get-go This series was so fascinating, I've watched it twice already!

You should check out The Haunting of Hill House. The whole thing is essentially a commentary on grief and mental health and it was so poignant for me. Meant a lot. Plus, I love your thoughts on stuff.

Sorry, but I couldn't help but laugh when you said that was nicotine -- it was definitely a joint XD [*edit: as in marijuana, just to clarify]. It's why she thought she was hallucinating after the first few times she died. Enjoyed the video tho!

Calling an ambulance in the United States is a costly mistake to the tune of thousands of dollars. Most people try to get someone to take them to the hospital if possible whether it be a friend, family member, Lyft, or Uber.

FYI putting regular cocaine in a joint or cigarette won’t do anything. Typical cocaine just burns when you try to smoke it, you have to alter the chemical composition to make it active by smoking ie. crack or freebase cocaine. Similarly, there is a certain type of heroin that isn’t active through smoking, it just burns.

I disagree with your explanation of déjà vu. It is not a phenomenon of a temporal lobe disorder. It happens to just about everyone, and not very many people have temporal lobe disorders. Short-term memory and long-term memory are in two different places in the brain. Déjà vu is caused by a perception, while on the way to being recorded in short-term memory, glitches and goes to long-term memory first. Therefore it is “remembered” (incorrectly) by the consciousness as something that has happened in the past when it is actually something new. I am very surprised that you-as a Doctor of Psychiatry -are unaware of this.

That’s not typical everyday deja vu portrayed in the show. And he gives multiple possibilities for this in the video that are relevant to the show. This video is a response to the show not a treatise on everything related to deja vu.
