2 жыл бұрынIn this video I will show how to replace the Brake Reservoir seals and also how to repair the pivot bushing in the Throttle Pivot Assembly on my 1983 Mercedes-Benz 300D (W123 Chassis).

Thank you. I have the Mercedes W123 240d with the 4 speed manual. I have had some issues with the throttle pivot assembly. This is good information.

One area I forgot to share is the replacement bushing from Ebay is slightly bigger and the screws for the metal part that the bushing attaches to is not fitting as well into the dished out part that is on the fire wall. Sorry, I am not familiar with the exact names. It's like many things on this car you have to be willing to do some modification.

@@kermitefrog64 I used my part but the eBay part I had was identical. My part had some light finish work I did post 3d printing, including sanding a bit of material away to help it fit perfectly. I hope you got everything to fit and it is working the way you need it to. But you could also print one of my bushings at a different size if you needed it smaller or larger which is the nice part about having the part as a 3d part. The next time my fails I am thinking about cutting the part out of aluminum on my CNC mill.

Great video. Your video very useful almost a year after posting. Mine is so degraded hopefully the retention clip you mention at 2:47 and 3:29 is still there when I replace the Pivot Bushing over the next day or so... hehe

If the clip is gone it looks like a standard size. I just didn’t measure it but I bet you can find it at harbor freight or another hardware store if needed. Good luck on the repair, thank you for the comment, and for watching the channel!

Thanks for a detailed and easy-to-understand video. Great looking car! I own 1983 300TD and have done a lot to make the car look and run like new. Throttle Pivot Assembly is on my to-do list. This is awesome! The lever on mine is toast and was thinking of printing that part as well. Do you think that's possible, or should I just splurge for a used part in good condition? Thanks!

There is a fully printed 3d part on eBay so it is possible. I was thinking you could take the metal and some liquid urethane and make a refurb piece too. But that is some work for sure. Good luck!
