What am I talking about?
My topic is the KE-Jetronic injection system which I try to demystify as much as I can.
For all of you to understand the system in brief - Developed in 1973 and being mounted into cars up to 1993 as it went in history. But why these to letters!?(KE) K(from German "kontinuierliche Einspritzung" meaning continuos injection, without interruption) the MECHANICAL injection system on which the fuel starts flowing from the fuel tank sucked by the FUEL PUMP and delivered to the FUEL DISTRIBUTOR which sends fuel to the INJECTORS while the majority of it flows through the FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR through its return line back to the fuel tank again. The letter E(elektronische Gemischanpassung/electronically controlled mixture adaptation) has to mark the electronic sensors (the developement starting from early eighties) which had to inform the ECU about the current state of the engine so that the ECU(Electronic Control Unit) then could create current signal in mA(miliampers) and send it to four crucial components for the system - the EHA(the electro-hydraulic actuator, a unit consisting of a magnet, an electromagnet and a baffle plate) which had to fine tune the engine in each of its phases, the ICV(the idle control valve), the unit which was predicted for the engines perfect idle, the X11(the diagnostic socket) where the duty cycle(the ideal mixture) was adjusted and the X11/4(the code reader) - the socket which from any codes were read if present using an OBD1 scanner.
An extraordinary injection system which could be fully repaired in your own garage using a multimeter and a pressure gauge only for its fine tuning, together with some common tools.

zöveg fordítása a kamerával Hello! My problem is the following. Still, although I improved a lot from my own experience, luckily I found you! 🙂 Low idle on cold first start! (~500/550) If the engine is warm, it is stable, ~750 is perfect! (engine 40'C is already good). The other fault is that it runs well at low revs, but when accelerating quickly, it is not strong, and weak at higher revs. You already answered my question once, but I'm stuck. What I replaced, and the engine got better, but the basic fault remained, although to a lesser extent: 1. KE jet (1.8 190E My Mercedes, on which it was perfect, complete with all systems) 2. Filters, except in the tank. 3. Spark plugs, spark plug cable, distributor head. 4. Lambda probe. Fuel battery? Overvoltage relay? Thanks a lot!!!!

Hello. What is fuel battery? Concerning the OVP - as I have mentioned. When it fails there will be difficult both cold and warm starts. Remove the ECU connector, turn the ignition ON, measure voltage. ECU connector pin1 goes to the power and the ground to the battery. If you get 11-13V then your OVP is working and thereby your ECU as well. One more test - turn the ignition ON, if you hear the idle control valve making a click sound, that means that your ECU is working and thereby the OVP as well!

Saleh, the fuel pressure regulator can NOT be adjusted. Concerning the EHA, yes, the fuel pressure regulator - NO!

Can you please help. I turn the screw 7 full turns back and I put the caliper all the way in and it measures 9.5 mm

Decrease the length by turning the screw counterclockwise!

What exactly does this process do? I was told that mine had high fuel consumption and was defective.(EHA)

Checking the o-ring on the EHA adjustment screw. The EHA can be defective only if it gives constantly the same pressure difference(not higher than 0.2bar) no matter how much you turn the adjustment screw in. Then the EHA has to be replace and if it's leaky.

@@mercedeske hello my friend. This past Saturday I attempted to start my 560SL on a livestream. The engine turned over nicely and I was able to get it to start for just a few seconds and then it dies. Seems like it is starving for fuel. I’ve been watching many of your videos to see where I should start looking.
