This time the engine head comes off, valvesprings and their assembly is taken apart and soaked in oil. The rods and pistons gets dissasembled and also the crankshaft with its bearings.

Buenas te sigo desde España,me parece que haces un trabajo increible. Tengo un mecedes 300d con motor D/603912 y voy a comprar un motor de desguace para rehacerlo desde 0 como has hecho tu. Un saludo y sigue subiendo contenido por que es genial.

If I wanted to buy new pistons/ rods, how do I know what to buy? like what sizes and stuff

I think i say where i bought the rods in the next part from this one (h-profile rods), when it comes to pistons in a diesel i only know the original ones, i think they can widthstand alot of power and there is no aftermarket ones therefore. Besides that , google is your friend

do you know if those engine uses Piston Liner?

They dont use liners, i think mercedes offers aftermarket liners that engine machinist kan mount if they bore out a pittet cylinder.

I cant believe there are people on ebay trying to sell used pre chambers and used lifter buckets. New lifters are so cheap to buy new. And its not worth the risk of putting in used pre chambers. Destroying a motor over a used part. Smart huh. Good used motor. Minimum $2500. Prechamber $125 or so.

I'm not exactly sure they're cheap - I'm overhauling a #20 head now and the lifters are $46 each for genuine part (12 needed; 601-050-08-25). But yeah, I agree it's better to just buy new to avoid risk.
