This begs the question : Vendors that used to supply MB with parts had to adhere to MB strict requirements / standards ,nowdays is MB just slapping a sticker on a box so they can charge more despite inferior quality ?

"Taiwan, China" is presumably sufficiently ambiguous not to offend the Chinese Communist Party. Leaving it just as "Taiwan" or "Taiwan, ROC" would cause the POC to ban MB products. I think I put a 14.1v regulator in my '80s Benzes the last time I changed them.

@HTMLEXP what is the manufacturer / part number of your 14.1V regulator? Thanks

All the parts were made in west Germany. That is why they lasted 40 years.. the new parts will not last as long.... That is for sure..... Although Taiwan makes good quality electronics.. I trust their parts..... I have the same Mercedes parts made in Taiwan on my car for about two years... No issues....
