Mercedes W220 Tail Light Fix - TURN SIGNAL, CHECK LAMP

If you are getting the pesky TURN SIGNAL, L or R CHECK LAMP! message for your Tail Lights on a W220 S500, S430, S55 AMG, or S600 dashboard, then you can easily and permanently fix it by watching this video.

Thank you. Replaced the bulb and discovered that wasn't the problem. Your solution was the fix on my 2004 S430. Appreciate you.

Thanks for this, I had replaced the left rear turn signal bulb twice before I discovered the bulb was fine, your video helped my identify the corrosion on my W164 rear cluster it was a small spot just like your issue but a little smaller so I have sanded it back and tweaked the bulb contacts to start with.

@@masood-tv this problem can apply to any of the bulbs back there correct? Because one of mine isnt wrking and bulb is brand new..

Working great I bent tabs and lightly sanded all contacts with 600 grit paper than cleaned 👍

This works too sometimes I have This same issue with mine and do this but think I'm at point were I need to replace tho but good news is check Amazon I bought new front headlights with bulbs and they works and look great and I spent no more than 300 and assembled myself

Dear Masood, Sorry about the ambiguity, I mean the gaskets for the rear light clusters. There is a foam type gasket between the rear light fitting and the body of the car. I cannot obtain them in the UK and wondered if you had needed to replace yours when removing and refitting the rear light units. Kind Regards

Hi Stuart, no worries. I have not. I would suggest calling an MB dealer's parts dept, supplying your VIN, getting the part number and price, followed by price shopping online and otherwise.

The pink housing in my 2003 CL 55 just melted and the wire broke off. Any advice? The outer taillight bulb on the driver side is out.

Hi Ragner - I am not sure if you can buy that separately. I would look in junk yards for a replacement or search eBay.

@@masood-tv That's exactly what I did yesterday actually, I went to the junkyard 😂 I'm still not getting any power to the light bulb even? Also I have another question, my battery makes a click click click sound but the car runs and operates fine. My car also died and I believe there is a parisitic draw, and I found something connected to the battery's positive terminal. I disconnected the thing and the trunk lights still flash, which is actually a symptom of the whole thing.

Find a diagram and go to work testing everything related with a meter. There could be a short somewhere...don't forget to check related fuses... compare voltages to the side that is working.

@coplrn1020 I am not sure of the ratio of copper to other materials in a penny...never thought of it. Test its conductivity first with a volt meter with resistance function.

my taillights stay on. my battery gets drained but when i go to a battery place they tell me my battery is fine and that it’s a different problem. my taillights stay on and one side has a yellow tint, the other has a white tint to it.. my battery keeps getting drained and i have to constantly jump start it to get it running again. the srs message pops up and most electrical stuff won’t work like turn signals, windows, and the radio will turn on and off.

Sounds like some serious electrical issues...you will have to hunt the source of the problem, but will need some knowledge of tracing the issue.... Good luck.

Hi Blue Ben, check your light switch and make sure it is in off position. Otherwise, you will have to check the fuses, wires, etc. and do some troubleshooting...

@@masood-tv i opened my trunk and unplugged the switch for the rear brake light. Problem solved for now. If the rear license lights stay on i recommend just unscrewing them for the time being. Thank you for the input. Probably a bad light switch.

Masood the licence plate light is not working,bulbs it’s good I disconnected the both plugs and there is not electric voltage seems like the wire is broken..need to check part by part

Masood solved,when one bulb it’s burn the system cutting the power,wiring was good if someone have similar problem the best option change both bulbs for new
