It starts with the soft plead of uncertainty highlighting a lack of confidence. Then the mood all changed to a cry of anguish and determination. Finally, after all the hard work comes tremendous acclamation and success. She lost herself and left her soul on stage, laid bare and battered. Unbelievable and brilliant. Kasey killed it for me there’s three moments that make this so brilliant. The haunting start and you actually appreciate how great the lyrics actually are, then again when she harmonies with the guitarist. Then when the band kicks in and she tears the muther fuckin roof off it, wow every time I hear this I get goosebumps.

Another great reaction. So glad you've found our girl Kasey. I'm not a huge Country fan, or a huge Rap fan, but what Kasey does when she steps outside the box is always special. A couple of things you might find interesting. That's her father Bill on he slide guitar. And after they realised what a great performance this was, Kasey and the management asked all the people that were there, to send in any videos they took on their phones & cameras This whole film clip is made up of that footage. So cool.

I would never listen to Eminem, so this gave me the opportunity to hear his powerful lyrics and appreciate them - even though I do not appreciate rap. Kasey killed this.

Kasey writes most of her own material and I think this arrangement was a collaboration with her brother Nash who is a music producer and manager. My favorite song of hers is ( Ain't no little girl ) written after her marriage break up, absolutely brilliant, you will love it. I prefer the Official music video, but live it is also great

Saw her perform in 2006 here in Australia. She didn't sing 'Lose Yourself' though wish she had. Blows me away every time I see that video. 😯 Her concerts are a real family affair. Her father Bill, who can be seen in that performance, is sitting on stage with the lap steel guitar, her brother Nash does the mixing, and I can remember buying a t-shirt from her mother at the merchandise stand. 👍

She has 20 odd albums to her name and, as you heard, puts her heart & soul into her singing, leaving it all on the stage. If you want to hear more of her, I'd recommend the following songs: 'The Captain' - This was one of the first songs she wrote as a solo artist, about those times when the world is just too much. 'Not Pretty Enough' - About the frustration from her album's success, but radio just wouldn't play her stuff. 'Aint No Little Girl' - (recommend the 'Underground Bluegrass' performance) About her reaction to some bloke stuffing her around. 'Nullarbor Song (Live) - About homesickness. Bring tissues. Enjoy.

Rapp and hip hop were not as big here in Australia as the US. We are more rock, pop and country. So Kasey performed this for her own audience base. In my opinion, this is much better than Em's version because I can relate to it more. Awesome reaction guys :)

Kasey’s version of country is closer to the Appalachian and Bluegrass styles. Her cover of Dolly Parton’s Little Sparrow from about 20 odd years ago is also really special. If you like a sparse almost haunting style try something like Gillian Welch’s song Revelator.

Kasey is a powerhouse. Listen to "ain't no little girl" live acoustic trio at the bluegrass underground from some years ago. She has a following that crosses genres in Australia.

This has been reacted too quite often in recent months. Kasey has had a long career beginning with her family's band in the 1980s. In those days her family spent half the year out in remote areas in Australia with her father Bill shooting rabbits and kangaroos and the rest of the year in a small fishing town. I taught Kasey and her brother Nash when they were teenagers.
