In this video I review Meribel ski resort in the 3 Valley France. Meribel Ski Resort in the 3 Valleys France is one of Europe's premium ski resorts. As part of the 3 Valleys, you can access 600km of pistes from Meribel. The Meribel Valley sits between Val Thorens and Courcheval in the centre of the world's largest combined ski area. In this video, I take a look around Meribel ski resort!

@@Simonjburgess I didn't have a particular favourite resort there but loved zooming down combe de Caron when it was open. Serious vertical and speed on that one. The cable car was always having problems though.

I loved the other side of that down into Orelle… a good spot for getting away from the crowds

You've saddly missed what I think are the best runs in Meribel (apart from MT Valon which is awesome, although I prefer the run which was closed for you). These are runs on the oposite side of the valley (towards St. Martin and Les Menures). There are 4 chairslifts near the top (sideways to each other) and each has couple of fantastic runs. These are my favourite in the morning when it's smooth and firm from overnight frost.

Great advice, and I’ll bear that in mind as I’ll certainly be back in the 3 Valleys one day. The more you visit a place the more you discover… hopefully I’ll find the runs you mentioned

Great video! Would you recommend skiing solely in Méribel for a week, or is the 3 Vallées pass worth it? Did you fully enjoy exploring all that the 3 Vallées have to offer?

Thank you. I like the option of the 3 Vallées pass but sometimes it depends on the ability of your group. You can always take the 3 Vallées option for a couple of days on your trip and spend the rest of the week in Meribel

My home mountain is Mt. Hood in the state of Oregon, about an hour or so from me. I generally get up there 20 or so times per winter. I live in a place called the Columbia River Gorge. I am about 40 minutes from the city of Portland, Oregon ( where I grew up) and about 3 hours from the city of Seattle, Washington. If you ever get over to the Pacific Northwest ( that’s what we call this general region) give me a shout and I’ll give you a tour of this area if you like. I’m 56, married and we have two adult kids, Camille 22 and Noah 20. I’ve lived in this area my whole life. Where are you from? Have a good one. Jason

That is an offer I might just take you up on one day!!! I would love to get to Mt Hood. I am from London but currently live in the UK's Lake District. Moved to be closer to the mountains but to ski its still a case of heading to Europe or the US etc. Stay in touch.

What time of year did you go? I always found VT to be way more chaotic than Meribel.

I’ve been a few times, this was filmed over Xmas and new years holidays so I’d expect it to be busy… just had way less queuing in VT. When you do normally visit?

I agree i've done 4 seasons in meribel and had the 3 valley season pass for two of them and vt was always known as the most chaotic

@@Bronzed-adonis the centre of VT is busy where the runs all meet at the learners runs in the village, but as soon as I was away from that it was pretty quiet. Guess the weeks you travel will make a difference. Maybe I’ve just been really lucky in VT.

@Simonjburgess I think u were just unlucky in meribel I only ever knew the mont vallon lift to get a bit packed occasionally in the whole time I've been there. during the school holidays it can get a bit more busy but nothing too bad in my experience anyway
