Sorry guys it's not 6.5, despite having a sticker in the bike. I went 6.5 with carbon paste and thr seat angle shifted during a ride. I took the clamp apart and voila, it says 12 nm. I've gone with that, with carbon paste, and I presume that will be rock solid. I dunno why it says 6.5 on a sticker on the frame.

Hi Daniel, what tension for the seat clamp bolts on the Merida Reacto 9000E, the seat keeps tilting and the bike shops, yes plural have no idea what tension they should be at. The Prologo seat has carbon rails and I think they’re scared to damage them. Also there is no tension specified on the bike, only 8nm for the seat post. I’m incredibly frustrated by the way. The seat post just collapsed when I first got the bike damaging the carbon on the seat post. 3 bike shops tried to fix it with carbon paste and it was only sorted after me having several rides where I got caught with a seat post that wouldn’t stay up and a seat that kept tilting. Not what you’d expect on an AUD 13,000 bike, I’m frustrated beyond belief!

6.5 mate will be enough. You gotta add the carbon paste otherwise it will slip. Park tool do a great carbon paste but without it slippage.

Reacto Seatpost aren't compatible with SMP saddles.

Hey, I got a new Meride Reacto Disc. I mounted the seatpost and it is creaking constantly when moving on the bike or pedalling. How to fix this? Its brand new, torque set just below the max. specified of 8 Nm.

I have the same problem. The bike shop in Moscow said this seatpost should be sealed with carbon fiber for stability. But next week I will call the distributor. Maybe it's a warranty case.

@@catbaton802 am in contact with my dealer at the moment. Realy love the bike, but thats not only anoying but will damage the frame in a long term...

@@felixxilef7682 Yesterday I lubricated the seat post with a special carbon paste. Today I traveled 30 km, and there were no clicks in the weekly pin. maybe it was necessary to grease the seatpost profusely from the beginning?

@@catbaton802 thats nice to hear. I bought the bike online and it did not come with carbon paste. The dealer told me he will send me some, so I hope to get the problem sorted out by that in the coming week.
