I love hearing an A run. I’ve got a 46 model myself, been a pain restoring it because it’s one of the low geared A’s that are extremely hard to find parts for and was completely warn out when I got it. Never the less, it runs strong and is a very fun tractor. Can’t beat them!
@DanielFarmChannel Жыл бұрын
Wow, I forget the term for that transmission. Like a creeper transmission. I wonder if it still goes faster than the early A's with only 4 gears (about 6mph).
@AirborneRenegade Жыл бұрын
@@DanielFarmChannel It runs about 10mph in road gear. Cool knowing the early A’s are that slow.

This is great. Dad had a '39 A looked almost identical to this one. Spoke rears and front. Fond memories of that tractor. Dad farmed a lot of ground with it. It was sold for $900 in 1988. I heard it was put a shed and is still there.

It's a matter of getting the timing just right, a clean carb, and knowing what the old girl likes for a fuel mixture. Once I got that figured out it started like that every time.

Ours don't have a diesel tank in it anymore... So it runs off of it's gas tank instead, I love your tractor btw
@DanielFarmChannel Жыл бұрын
Are you talking about the small tank? The small tank was originally the gas tank, and the big tank was meant for distillate like kerosene. However, you could run gas in the big tank too.

What did you 'close' (presumably) on the right side to stop the exhaust smoke under the engine?aweskme sound!
@DanielFarmChannel11 ай бұрын
Compression release petcocks. There is one on each side for the cylinders. If those are closed, it's nearly impossible to turn over the engine under full compression.

@@Marine-iu3ev back to the basics. Got fuel and spark? Taking the hood off should only have messed with fuel. Did something very plugged up in the sediment bowl intake?
@Marine-iu3ev Жыл бұрын
@@DanielFarmChannel No, there is fuel at the plugs. In fact, it appeared almost flooded. I believe the problem is no spark to the plugs. Will let you know what I find today. Thanks again Dan for the reply.
