What a pleasure is to hear again in such tender performance in 2023... Reminder of the times that most people were kind to each other...

Meryl Streep jest jedyna, nie do zastąpienia. zachwyca mnie jej naturalność, jej gra, piękny śpiew. Od lat jestem jej fanką. Nieczęsto rodzi się taki talent!

A True Classic Indeed! Just Cruising thru Garrison Keillor's Greatest Hits on his usual Saturday night prime time spot. I think a true Joy was lost when Garrison stepped away (not by choice), and there will forever be a space in my Heart (more like a an unfathomable crater) from the Happiness his show and all of his special guests like Meryl Streep brought to me and so many others. His Cancellation was actually a Big Big Mistake....I know I am not the only one to yearn for his whisper poetry voice. Wherever you are Garrison Keilor Brightest Blessings to you Sir. May this Note find you Well and Basking in the Warm Light, Beloved Forever 🌺🌟🙏🎶🎤🌞💝🍀 ~

I had them play this song at my daughter's funeral. She left behind five children. The oldest was 16 at the time. Recently her husband a police officer was killed in the line of duty. My granddaughter asked me the name of this song. She had it played at her husbands funeral and asked me to sing it in harmony with her. I couldn't think of a greater honor.

As a Lutheran minister I've presided over many a funeral where this song had to be played. It has such a sweetness to it, but it also tells such a beautiful story of the savior.

It may be a comforting song but there is no god and the myth of god was invented to control and comfort people. If you if helps you to have an invisible friend in the sky, okay.

Cat Gang Funny, this originally came to me as a response to me & I thought what did I ever do to you? I’m not a nihilist! But as a now former Lutheran pastor (I like Me. Keillor sojourned among the Lutherans but have since transferred my Ordination to a Presbyterian denomination). As for Johnathon I think you handled that very well. Not really trolling, more like asking a simple question. Makes you wonder why he’s listening to Garrison Keillor? Maybe his soul is seeking the faith his mind rejects?

Sara Brown I am here because that song was played at my mother’s funeral when I was a child. I was surprised by how well Meryl Streep could sing the hymn. I thought Hollywood was ruled by Satan worshipping, kiddie fiddling nihilists.

There is not much that moves me to tears, but this song is just so beautiful that it makes me well up every time I listen to it...It comes from a place when courtship meant something, and people were virtuous...I'll never become tired of this sweet old melody....

It's a joyful moment when you're drinking your own tears, hearing the sounds and feeling the love of your grandmother. Laura Allison would play this and make me and my sister and our cousins sing along with her, a fifty-some-year-old woman and her choir of 4 and 5 and 6-year old Denny and Gary and Karen and Debbie, standing around bumping hips with each other and rolling our eyes and sticking out our tongues, behind her head so's she wouldn't be hurt at our silly ways. Oh my and oh me, to go back for one more minute, standing in that cold living room on that pine plank floor, circled around our Mawie. ( I KNOW, Grandmother, I know : " Don't call me Mawie " ! It's only one more time, here tonight -- Mawie ) My favorite hymn, even more than The Old Rugged Cross or Onward, Christian Soldiers. I figured out, just now, why it's my favorite.

I listen to this over and over.... Its because it is clear and simple... and it touches my heart. I have requested that her version be sung at my funeral. But not just yet ...god willing...:)

IN THE GARDEN OF THE UNIVERSE I come to the garden alone, While the dew is still on the roses, Nature’s voice I hear, falling on my ear, The universe discloses. [Chorus:] And she walks with me, and she talks with me, And she tells me I am her own, And the joy we share as we tarry there, None other has ever known. Nature speaks, and the sound of her voice, Is so sweet the birds start their singing, And the melody that life gives to me, Within my heart is ringing. [Chorus:] And she walks with me, and she talks with me, And she tells me I am her own, And the joy we share as we tarry there, None other has ever known. Knowledge stirs, and it’s movement’s so true The sun dawns to highlight its glory, And the light it brings, dancing with those beams, Will grace my whole life’s story. [Chorus:] And she walks with me, and she talks with me, And she tells me I am her own, And the joy we share as we tarry there, None other has ever known.

how can u live with yourself. you deceived these kids, and you didnt want them to know who their biological parents were. you didnt want them to have a good life, and you succeeded. how can u do such a thing. you destroyed their lives. you were a wife beater, and you got away with it.
