It took me two solid years , practicing 3 times a week about two hours each practice to get this down properly ,I'm self taught so it was by ear , I'm happy to say it's now in my muscle memory .

yeah, it's the same pattern in all instruments, that's kind of the only thing in Meshuggahs music, that all instruments play the same rhythm most of the time...

Great tutorial man thanks a lot! I use heel-toe technique for doubles as well, trying to get used to slide but I prefer heel-toe, and most the videos I see for Bleed people use slide method so was cool to see someone use heel-toe. I like how you have to alter feet for the doubles too, gets both of them working evenly

Thank you for making this tutorial. at first I thought it was too difficult but after I learn and practice I find it a bit boring... Im ready for the part 2. Hopefully the bass drum that I order will arrive soon. I have too much practice on my snare and cymbal/clapper already.

thank you for watching it. Yeah, patterns like this are quiet annoying sometimes, but I see it more like a meditation, then it can be kinda relaxing in a way, to repeat it over and over again...

Guys, please help. How do I develop the speed for something like in 1:33? Just sit and practice in slow tempo and gradually increase it? I've done it so many times. It doesn't get to the speed I need. Or did I just give up at the wrong time and should've pushed myself a bit harder?
@hendrikthiesbrummel8478
@hendrikthiesbrummel8478 Жыл бұрын
@Mrs. Darcy , Yes my way of getting faster was and still is the way of beginning slow and gratually speed up. The Most important thing for your brain ist the understanding of the pattern. so play it extremly slowly until you internalized it fully. than speed it up. Good luck, and have patience, it will take some time.

Well he over complicated that first part just say it's 4 notes on the bass drum with the first two notes being played almost together, while the second two notes are more spaced. then the hi hat plays in 4/4 just 1.2.3.4 and the snare plays on every 3 but he alternates it.

all he says is it two 32nd notes followed by two 16th notes which is correct and as simple as it gets. you cant say two together and 2 spaced, that's just musical gibberish.

@hendrikthiesbrummel8478
@hendrikthiesbrummel8478 Жыл бұрын
@Tom DiMartino I play the ghosts on every " e and a" except "2a" and "3e" to avoid a double stroke around the Backbeat. Maybe at first you try to play just straight 16ths with the feet, to internalize the hand ghost pattern first.

You are leading people down a dead end technique. seems a little strange with so many good tutorials already available. This tutorial is really not that great, the kick pattern you are teaching is waaay too complicated, especially when the 5 groupings start. Thomas just plays singles leading with the right foot.

If you think learning to also play into in a different stick/footing to the original isnt extending your skills you are a fool.
