Mesmerism (History of Hypnosis Documentary Series - Episode 02) With Dan Jones

This is a new series I (Dan) am creating about hypnosis. I have planned episodes and will do my best to create them all back to back, but they do take a very long time to make. If there are #hypnosis documentary ideas you would like to see, share in the comments below.
This second episode is about #mesmerism. In this episode we cover the work of Franz Anton Mesmer and some of the other key mesmerists and healers around at the time, following the story of mesmerism through the commission debunking Mesmer's theories and mesmerism's spread to the UK and USA, up to the time of the birth of hypnotism.
Based on content from Dan Jones hypnosis book 'Introduction to Hypnotherapy' which is book one in the 'Hypnotherapy Revealed' series (Available in paperback and Kindle eBook, more information here: smarturl.it/22y8sl)

This came right after “The Quorum of 1700” and was directly connected with the plans formed within. Hence why Gasner had to go. The correct connection with spirits was the exact opposite of the goals of the Quorum. ( 9:15 universal fluid. Æthr.) aethr earth heart The Hearth

Did i missed the part where a physician said the term “hypnosis” wasn’t the best and that rather “mono-ideism” was the right one? I re-watched this video and never found it but I’m sure I learn this from HMI years ago

That, I think gets mentioned in the Hypnosis episode, which is the episode after this. James Braid coined the term hypnotism but preferred monoideism as this is what hypnosis is, rather than a form of sleep, however the term hypnotism unfortunately stuck. Milton Erickson often used the term monoideism when teaching, but in all my books, videos, audios etc, I've almost never heard anyone else choose to use that term. They will mention about James Braid preferring the term, but they stick to using the term hypnotism...

I'm (Dan) the one doing the demonstration at that point in the video. I have one videos on this channel and in my eCourses of me demonstrating different hypnosis inductions etc... This is filmed at home in my study. I've got almost 1000 physical hypnosis related books and lots of books on psychology, neurology, social science, therapy, physics, martial arts, and a lot more...

So Mesmer wasn't the founder of this. He was the only one who could survive the Jesuits persecution in the name of science.
