I have seen him play for man city and for spain several times and the one thing I did see that actually caught my eye is that he is more flexible in his playstyle then özil is. he played very different footbal for man city compared to spain hyper possesion football. now guardiola as a coach likes possesion too and u can see how good he is at that kind of play. if I was forced to answer then I would say that özil in general is the better playmaker. his strength is to play very accurate and fast passes to create chances. he is at best when the team uses a variant of "gegenpressing" when the team gets the ball and he can deliver a pass before the defense has orientated against him. now for silva i see him as a very flexible player that can play even on the wing and that is in general an allrounder. i dont see him beeing as strong in fast plays like özil but I see him very very strong in creating chances against already established defense.

You cant compare real forward with germany forward. A playmaker is as good as his forward is.
