Koki Holdings bought Hitachi power tools but due to the agreement couldn't use the Hitachi name. Koki also bought Metabo power tools (German). After doing some research they decided t rebrand the Hitachi line as Metabo HPT (Hitachi Power Tools) in the North American market and HiKoki (Hitachi Koki) everywhere else. So you can use the same batteries on both Metabo HPT and HiKoki tools, especially the 18/36v multivolt batteries. KKR now owns Koki holdings, so technically its a US company now.

You mentioned that the clutch failed in the DBL3DL. How long did you own it before it failed? Do you know what caused the failure? Thanks.

So it failed after about 5 to 7 years or so but actually it still works except for the higher clutch settings. Consider subscribing. Thanks. Joe you have a great voice.

Thank you for clarifying. Typically I use single ended bits but you can use a double ended bid in this as well. It accepts both. They need to be a certain length however, the very very short bits won’t work but the standard bits approximately 2 inches work great as do the longer ones. Consider subscribing. Thank you. Joe.
